I agree with what you wrote but lets not forget the fact that a part of our ascent last season was due to the fact that the Panthers were out of the picture, the same can be said for the Sabres.

I want some more size and down and dirty players in our lineup. Being skilled and fancy wont be enough. Trading Arber Xhekaj just died.

I don't know why people don't remember this. Sabres had just started knowing who they are. Panthers weren't there. Toronto will be better, no matter what people think. Sure, if nothing is done (which I doubt), Ottawa won't be there...but we HAD to think we'd be ahead of them no?

We are where we still are....with the addition of Panthers. We have to change our team. 2nd C, 4th RD, better bottom 6. If not....we could probably be where we were...or might not be surprise to see us with a step back...

2029 1st round pick.........and 2030 2nd round pick
So Basically Ottawa only got one valuable assets for the next 2 years.....ouch.

You can’t say that - that’s worst case scenario.
The late first could be Hage.
The late 2nd could be Hutson.
The top pick could be Demidov
Demidov went 5th overall, they are getting a 9th in a weakish draft. Hage went 21st, so ya maybe, but 25th and 2029 first rounder are most likely going to not get a Hage. We lucked out in different drafts, but chances of lucking out are less than drafting a bust for a very late first.

Florida has 7 mill in cap space with no goalies signed. 13 forwards and 6 defenseman.

Does Hughes have the brass balls to offer them Dobes for Lundell? Is this a remix of Halak for Eller after his 2010 run?
yeah man lets trade our goalie #1 who carried us to the east conference final to keep Monty and an unproved rookie.
What a great plan

You forgot Detroit, which will be worse next season because Larkin is going to paint them into the same corner that Tkachuk just did to the Sens.
