Or very Florida like, who hasn’t had a 1st round pick the last 4 years. If a team is using their 1st round picks to find long term solutions, like Dobson, to try and win now i dont think that’s a bad thing. The issue with the Leafs is they traded their 1sts for players that weren’t long term solutions, such as Carlo, O’Reilly, and Laughton.

This extends beyond that for the Leafs, the last "natural" 1st round pick they used at the draft was in 2017 (Liljegren*).

From 2018 to 2025 they made 4 first round selection, none with their own picks (and most pick were direct downgrade to their own)

2020 #15 (Pitts' pick) Amirov
2023 #28 (Boston's pick) Cowan
2024 #31 (Edmonton's pick) Danford

*= player was traded away.

So yeah, that's pretty much what winning 2 rounds and setting out on a never-ending quest to find "the next guy that will put you over the top" look like.

Zharovsky, two 1sts, (and Engstrom?) is fair value for Matthew Knies.

No. it's far too much unless they believe Knies - Kapanen - Demidov would work. And no reason to trade Zharovsky if he signs and stays with the team.

Wingers are easy to fill. You'd think Habs fans would have figured it out by now - 30 years sibce we had two legit top 6 Cs.

I would also , I would also add Matheson Evans and Danault which had upsides during playoffs. Alot of players that we wont need going further and we need roster spots

I’ll take a 30 goal winger who battles and competes in the playoff over a small 50 goal guy who checks out early for summer break

Not sure they would have him spend the summer with Demidov to build a relationship with him if they were planning on trading him. That kinda indicate that they plan on him being a big part of the team in the near future.

Pretty sure players train wherever and with whoever they want and the facilities are open..

One thing for sure, I have high faith on Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton.

They will do anything to make the team better for now and long time. If they sacrifice huge young assets, they will receive something really really good in exchange.

Last summer with Bolduc and Dobson, they nailed it and they will nailed it again!

He plugged a hole for a few weeks. We should’ve left at that. He’d be one of the first I don’t dress for next year. He’s just not good and he doesn’t help the identity crisis we suffer from on the bottom 6. He’s more finesse in a spot where we shouldn’t want it.

Larkin seems like a total loser to me.

I loved the way he celebrated his first goal of the season against us like it was a game 7 OT winner...
