HF Habs: Trade Proposal Thread: From Here to Free Agency

They paid Tage Thompson for ROR.

The only reason we don't talk about this as a massive blunder is because STL won a cup in a cinderella run.

This example may not make the point you want to make.

We also need both of Hage and Zharovsky. That's two quality player for our top-9 for more than a decade who will play next season.
Not sure what Thompson has to do with a conversation about Poehling? I’ll let St Louis fans argue if that price was worth it.

Hands down no brainer in hindsight for Montreal to do it.

People are soo funny in this thread, everyone talk about Hischier, Thomas, Knies and Larkin... but no ones talk about BRETT FREAKING HOWDEN?? I WOULD GIVE EVERYTHING FOR HIM!!
Because he is not very good, every year there is a John Druce in the playoffs.

So you don't want tougher bottom 6? Isn't it clear that is what is helping Vegas looking the best against a Canes team with a good system? Pisani was never tough to play against. Even when he is not scoring, Howden always was.
We have a Brett Howden at home -- Josh Anderson. Tough to play against and doesn't score a whole lot normally. Most fans here want to get rid of him already, imagine if we had another one.

Tough bottom 6's are great in the playoffs and not the regular season. That's why teams load up on these guys at the deadline.

My first target this summer would still be Brady Tkachuk. I know everybody is saying it's the US or nothing for him. But I would throw a line in lake to see if it's feasable and what the Sens send would demand and if he would be willing to join a team that went to the ECF. imagine having this guy in our top 6, it completely changes the makeup of our line-up. Big, gritty, talented.

I’d have been far more interested if he didn’t do that ridiculous video with his dad. Publicly cutting the team you’re playing on is bush league. Hughes has painstakingly built a team with a ‘no jerks’ rule. I don’t think he breaks it for this guy.

That being said, he’s a big physical skilled hockey player and there aren’t many of those. Ottawa is not a rebuilding team though. I don’t see them wanting prospects and picks which is what we’re going to be offering.

This is the assets habs should have on the table this offseason

1st pick 2026
1st pick 2027
Hage
Zharovsky
Engstrom
Guhle
Kapanen
Dach
Struble

All those should be enough to find us a great center and a winger easily or a dman

Someone I may consider is Fowler if a team really wants him and if we got someone substantial in return. It would pain me though. But Serge Savard always always said a trade works from both sides when both sides are unhappy.

Really don’t want to trade Hage, Engstrom or Zharovsky. Ditto with Fowler or Zadorov.

It would have to be a really good player to start giving those guys up.

The insane trade proposal- Hage, RB and Fowler for McDavid…

Yea with Brady it's sort of a poisoned chalice if you will. Where he is kind of a dummy and sometime attracts the wrong kind of attention. But he fills so many needs to water the mouth. lol I cannot pass down the idea of getting our hands on a talented big boy like that. A silver lining is that the Sens are going nowhere, they are a mess and maybe given that the Habs have a good room, it could help him. Look at what happened with Marner in Vegas who was considered individualistic in Toronto.

Are we talking about the best goal scorer in the NHL ?
I mean, take the empty netters of MacKinnon, Caufield is practically head and shoulders above everybody...
Anyone would want the 3rd most productive RW in the game, 17th in the NHL amongst all players.

And you want to trade him for a legit ?

Or maybe we should wait to see him and Slafkovsky that wasn't any better in these PO not being the only lines the other teams has to check to kill 50% of the offensive power of this team. When the focus won't be only 100% on that line, then we could talk about it.
Could be.. fine then Rober Thomas it is.

Its not CC the guy/player.. i just dont believe uber small players can perform adequately in playoffs (not incl Hutson). It's a bias i know.

I’d prefer Knies and he could probably be had cheaper.

Damn Comtois that's a name I have not heard in a while. Always liked this guy. Could make a decent 4th liner. Greer and Duhaime would be interesting indeed. As for the others, we could basically change our whole defensive corp by signing these guys. lol Trade Carrier, Struble and Ghule.
