At his best Petey is a great 2 way Center with scoring instincts, perfect fit for Demidov, but it's a big gamble.
Eichel was a massive gamble. Sometimes you have to gamble. Teams don't give away their elite players. I'd even say ROR the 2nd time he was traded was a gamble. He had failed twice to lead a team anywhere getting him to lead your 1st line was a substantial gamble. Kessel was a notorious gamble for the Pens nobody wanted him and Pens did not give that much even with the retention.

Yeah, ROR sounded like he wanted to quit hockey. No guarantee there.

Reinbacher is not going to be a defensive stud from age 20-25 range. Maybe around the age 24 or 25 he starts to show this, but those are rare. This is why I have been defending Guhle's value as a defensive guy. Guhle is 24 and earned top 4D status at a younger age. I don't think many fans know how rare that is in terms of reaching that level from defensive/physical play vs offensive production. Usually, the defensive/physical types show this level in the 25+ years. Kind of how I see Xhekaj projecting... a late bloomer

He's a very good all around type but what we have here is a longer term guy. There is no break open type season to come. He's going to go through up/downs and when he reaches his 25+ years, that's when the real Reinbacher shows up.

Age 22 season coming. 2 or 3 more years of getting his NHL feet wet. I do value Reinbacher but I don't like the gap from when he is in his prime to what we need now. If we can get pieces like McTavish and Hischier added, we should consider moving Reinbacher. Adding Dobson make Reinbacher expendable IMO.

One of Engstrom or Reinbacher stays. I'd have them play with Guhle. Pickford should be dangled. Our roster does not need offensive types. We need warriors

That's probably one of my untouchables. If he even gets slightly better on D he has top 2 potential. Dump Matheson, but Pickford we have to keep. There's only 4 dman in the WHL who had over 25g last year, and he had 45 goals.

Arber Xhekaj is getting traded. MSL doesn't trust him enough to play him. The writing is on the wall.

The Bruins will find a way to get Xhekaj if he leaves, mark my words, they won't trade with us, but they will go after him. He's as Bruin a Bruin as there ever was a Bruin.

I get why Pettersson is a tempting choice but we must target a 2nd center who can produce at 5 on 5. That being said, Dylan Strome would be an very good option IMO.
Caps are not rebuilding. They already have a good prospects / young players pool (Cole Hutson, Protas bros, Leonard, Cristall, Muggli) . They'll keep their vets and progressively add kids.

Ya, I think X and Kap are on the trade block. MSL didn't manage them properly in the playoffs. I think both guys we will regret trading, X we need his toughness and Kap with more playing time/opp will be a 40-50pt guy.

He is RFA so he doesn't even need to be traded. They could just not QO him or offer him a contract and walk away.
and I agree about MSL and Arber. Its telling that Struble gets to play with Hutson but when Arber pulls into the line up he is limited to like 6 minutes a game. That right there tells you everything.

You put Arber in a zone system, and he would be much better. The constant running around isn't for every player; some are great at it, and some aren't.

Could you imagine if Shea Weber were here and MSL asked him to step off the front of his net and out to the blueline while a forward took his spot in front of the net? He would not do it.

I am not comparing Xhekaj to Shea Weber, btw, but simply saying that a man-on-man chasing system isn't for everyone.

If Arber gets traded to a team who is willing to work with him and develop him based on his strengths, I can see a Ben Chiarot or Adam McQuaid type of career for him.

He is someone that I would never trade, no way but I would rather see him go elsewhere and develop into a solid defenseman.

8.7mil till 2031 when he'll be 34.

DO IT KENT!

Struble is shit btw, he is another version of Jordan Harris, simply does not do anything particularly well and should never play next to Lane Hutson. It is sacrilege that he ever got placed there. It's like playing Joe Veleono on the wing of Connor McDavid.

Ya I just don't get the Struble/Hutson obsession from MSL. Its very odd.
