HF Habs: Trade Proposal Thread: From Here to Free Agency

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
Crevier was awful defensively and doesn't use his size all that well. Buffalo won that trade big time, but it doesn't make them better next season. They also lost Tuch.

You're on the Montreal Canadiens board and Eklund is 5'10, lots of people will see it as a big loss. I wouldn't say Ottawa won that trade, but they're not much worse than they were.
Buffalo basically replaced Kesselring with Crevier, which should be a swap or maybe a small upgrade. Losing Greenway is whatever.

So really they lost Tuch and Byram for 4th overall, 2nd rounder and 3rd rounder.

That's a big loss for next season, but their future looks excellent. And also they could still make more moves here.

I think Kesselring is better than Crevier for them, since they care more about defence. Its a depth role though so it doesn't matter much. They lost their 3rd D and second best forward - its a big loss for next season. Down the road they're much better off.

Do you really believe KH is not working right now two days prior to the draft? Obviously he is working on who to draft or do we trade the picks.
Ill be incredibly disappointed if he makes the pick at 28 it doesn't matter who it is it won't be a relevant player for our current window and thus is a wasted pick it has to be used to upgrade our current roster

KH: building the team with the greatest vibes ever assembled

this forum: we need Shane Wright, EP40 and Tom Wilson
Even worse Kyrou.

Let's pretend next season Caufield scores 18 goals and finish with 46 points. Everyone would want him out of the team asap. Yet they want Kyrou. I'd rather wait for bigger fish. Go big or wait.

The reason he wants to get paid is because he did them a big solid on his bridge deal to get them under the cap on his 4 year deal. He wants what is owed to him and I don't put it against him that he does.
Bridge contracts are so stupid. It's never a good idea unless it's for players like Dach and Newhook. You don't bridge guys like Subban it's stupid.

Im sure you guys are losing your minds in here with anticipation/speculation. With all the moves getting done , I'll just wait for something to happen , I have so much confidence in Hughes I really couldn't care less about the rumour chasing / social media following.

I've basically become a casual because I don't have to worry about my GM destroying my team for a decade anymore , not a care in the world

Kesselring had a rough last season though, if we compare to that. But yea it doesn't matter much.

I think they can somewhat manage the loss of Tuch with young talented guys like Helenius and Östlund coming up and taking bigger roles, and maybe taking Björck/Malhotra with the 4th pick on top of that, but Byram will be a big loss with no immediate replacement.

How is Dallas hoping to sign Robertson at $15m+ and getting Larkin?
They can't even move Seguin if he doesn't want to (no movement clause).
Are they going to swap Wyatt with Larkin?

I mean its a risk ofc but like if you never take one , you will never find out.

Kapanen and Newhook at best can put 55 points together if Demidov carries them. Tuch or Kyrou alongside Demidov is a huge upgrade.
But we don't know all the details. Maybe Knies really is on the market and KH is in discussion with Toronto. I'd rather KH works on a trade for a better player than Kyrou. I see Kyrou as a plan B or C something you work on in august. There's no reason to be super negative until you have all the details.

You know Hughes and his amateur and pro scouts are huddled up in Montreal as we speak working on improving the team. Hughes isn't sitting idly by.
