I just hope we dont end up with some washed Centers on the downside , id rather overpay and play Zharovsky on the wings and find a RHDI agree it's just a name i threw in there.
I'd rather KH work on plan A now, Then plan B in july (UFA) and plan C in august. I don't see any of the players traded so far as plan A player outside of BT and we were not on his short list. Even Tuch for me is not plan A a winger is not what we need the most we should not spend quality assets on a winger unless it's Knies. Tuch is too old to spend good assets and money on Suzuki is 4 seasons removed from being where Tuch is now. 10.5 millions for 8 years if that's the contract Tuch signed i'm happy we were not interested.
It's been reported that a California team made an offer for Matthews. Everyone knows he will GTFO once his contract is over.Indeed. We will need to overpay and I'm afraid we must this time. But in the end I don't see him move. Why would Toronto set back? Matthews will GTFO if they do this.
So you wanted us to sign 30 years old Alex Tuch for 10.5 millions for 8 years?Tuch is gone for a third round pic ! what's Hughes doing? sleeping on it.
I just hope KH has something cooking and its not going to be another 3:01 PM thing where we find out he was going to get Thomas but because he waited till October Tampa Bay got him instead.Fans of every team, regardless of the GM, complain about this and its never valid unless you know for a fact he's doing nothing. You want outcomes (trades), not intent (being in on the action).
Would you prefer Montreal was giving up the high end picks in the upcoming draft that they don't have, or the high end players in the trades?
Pricing himself out of Dallas, an indirect way of getting traded where you want when you are a RFA....or cashing in a lots of money.Getting 12M$ in Dallas is better than 14M$ in most markets. What is this guy doing?
If Toronto's owner has a brain he'll ask his president to clean the house and rebuild. You got the 1st overall pick. You can probably go get the 4th overall from Buffalo along with a prospect for Knies. You can get a king's ransom for Matthews. You can probably get a late 2027 1st from a desperate GM for Reilly later in the summer. You can rebuild the core in 3-4 years easy. I don't get why they would not do it.It's been reported that a California team made an offer for Matthews. Everyone knows it GTFO once his contract is over.
Not really, but, our options are shrinking by the minute. So you wanted us to sign 30 years old Alex Tuch for 10.5 millions for 8 years?
Doing nothing at all is better than overpaying crazy free agency prices and hurting the teams futureNot really, but, our options are shrinking by the minute.
I disagree. Our options haven't been moved. But other teams making moves takes them out of the running for the guys we do want. Not really, but, our options are shrinking by the minute.
The cap will be going up but what will happen is you'll see more and more teams not spend to the cap. Sadly the cap will lose a lot of its effectiveness over the next few years. I could see some teams being 20 millions under the cap in a few years.Wouldn’t have wanted Tuch at anything over 8.5m
Really good winger but 10.5 until hes 38 is just too much even with the cap projected to keep going up for a player that’s never touched 80 points and regularly finishes in the high 60s

ITs not about the players yesterday its about KH being LTTP. I will give him till draft day and if by UFA day nothing has happened thats when it will really look like we are getting another Laine type player and not a Dobson player.
but lots of good players have been moved so far if KH is really the great GM he should be getting a move on it not waiting till 3:01 PM to submit a deal.
I also think this is what may be holding up other moves.I'm still waiting for Gallagher to get moved or bought out. I guess they are waiting for after tomorrow so the little celebration by the city doesn't come off as too weird.
