Best bottom 6??? Lol alright buddy. Half of this offensive roster does absolutely nothing
Should compare G scored by Habs bottom-6 vs rest of the NHL

There isn’t an NHL team w a 4th liner that has 10G for example - Habs 4th line has 17G which is #1 in the NHL

Habs 3rd line has dominated the opposing teams 3rd lines all season

3rd + 4th lines have scored 36G again #1 in NHL

You probably should take a look at the stats. Bottom-6 is doing a pretty good job offensively. Best bottom 6 is pushing it but they are above average offensively for sure.

The lack of offensive production comes from the second line. They are far from producing enough.

Our 1st line is average offensively.

Is there a possibility of Crosby being traded?

If the Penguins are going into a rebuild, is being traded not the best thing he can do for them?

The fact he's point per game at 37 years old is incredible.

IMO offer the better of the two 1sts, Mesar, Kappanen, and Dvorak.

That we also need, because we need an upgrade to RD.

We need 4 or 5 1st rounders over the next 2 years to draft the support cast for the cup runs AND upgrade 2C and RD1. That's assuming Laine sticks around. A big assumption. If he doesn't, then we might need another top line player. I'm hoping Heineman/Roy keeps developing in that direction, but no guarantee there.
Roy won't make it. Heineman will be good in the bottom 6.

I with you on this one. Our bottom 6 so called "dead weight" is just not accurate. They have performed well this season and it needs to be pointed out. People need to get over how much they are overpaid during our rebuild where we have unused cap space with them on our roster.

Way to early to know with Roy.

Early season miseries were driven by two elements:
- missing Laine due to injury + Dach recovering from major injury = lack of 2nd line offensive production
- veteran stabilizing presence on D which Carrier has brought

Yup, ripple effects like that can give you false outlook. This team and core is very resilient. You can clearly see how good team D and goaltending goes a long way. Then you allow your game breakers to do their job without much pressure on them

If Slaf doesn't start to show progress he should be dropped to 3rd or 4th line.I have been a big supporter of his and i know he's young but he doesn't belong on the 1st line at this point. If he wasn't picked 1st overall he would certainly not be up there with Suzuki and Cole

This is literally my dream scenario, but I can't see it happening (at least right now) simply because, if we're considered in the mix for the POs, so are the Pens. They're not out of it by any stretch this season.

I don't see them dealing Sid/Geno/any of those guys unless they have an absolutely horrid fall off and are clearly out, or they have a season where they are clearly out by this point.

It's a dream of mind and I do think Crosby picks either the Avs or Habs if he decides to leave the Pens. With that NMC, it does play into our favor a bit.

Pens are not making a good long term decision if they choose rebuild too late. They have assets they can trade now for futures that accelerate a rebuild. It's a good opportunity but something tells me their pride will get in the way

Why the pride? They're in 10th place or something like that, they have not been a contender in years and their GM Kyle Dubas is an experienced rebuilder.

His new contract is front-loaded with signing bonuses. One might think that it is structured to be traded. On the other hand, does Crosby really want to leave Pittsburgh? I think if Crosby is traded, it's because the Penguins will force him out, not unlike the Hawks with Toews & Kane.

To be fair, I bet our bottom 6 is also one of the most expensive.

Gallagher $6.5
Anderson $5.5
Dvorak $4.45
Armia $3.4
Evans $1.7
Heineman $0.8975
Total: $22.4475

It's a luxury we can afford right now, which is nice.

I doubt that will be forced onto Crosby. More like the other way around. It's very likely they talked hypotheticals (how the team does) when Crosby signed his latest deal.

Fair is not the right word of choice. What you see is fans shitting on them because they are overpaid. Once you get past the part of them being overpaid, you will come to realize that our bottom 6 depth is very good compared to the entire NHL. Overpaid or not, our bottom 6 is very solid.

The point here is they are not deadweight holding us back. They are overpaid but still playing well in a reduced role. They are overpaid on a team that is rebuilding and has unused cap space.

It would be a completely different story if they were blocking someone or if we needed the cap space.

MSL isn't going to break his 3rd or 4th line chemistry to drop Slaf from the 1st line and destroy two lines chemistry in the process.

That everyone is playing in the chair right now is why the team can roll 4 lines and is having success.

I am talking about comparison because it was stated we have one of the top bottom 6 scoring lines in the league, and I was providing context that they are also likely one of the most expensive. I wasn't "shitting" on them. I have been singing the praises of our bottom 6 the entire season.
