Yeah, you can trade for players on IR. Medical information just has to be cleared. You can't say a player is healthy then he arrives to his new team injured. Buffalo traded for Patrick Kane from Winnipeg when Kane was on LTIR. He was out the rest of that season.

There was an instance where Philadelphia waived a player and Montreal claimed him only to find he was injured (knee). You can't waive an injured player, so Montreal complained to the league, as did the player. NHL reversed the process, so he went back to Philadelphia.

Carrier has been cleared to play.
Blair Betts.

And Evander Kane, Patrick's brother 🤣

I'm slightly amused that yesterday, the "insiders" were all talking about the Canucks working hard to do some trades to improve their Ds...and 3 trades happened involving Ds, but they were not involved in any of them.

Hutson is making Matheson more expandable by the game, there's definitely some inevitability there. I just hope a decent veteran 2C is the return, even if we have to add a bit on top to make it happen.

That's the most important thing right there, we need to find another veteran to replace Matheson. We cannot have the mindset that Mailloux or Reinbacher can come in next year and do the job. Very risky and Reinbacher might need a season in Laval, if not 2!
