Habs have all the assets to acquire a player of that calibre. I am 100% confident in that. It all depends if a key player in an alternative offer if preferred by Calgary. But the habs have the assets.

If he comes with an extension, I have no issues sending the Calgary 1st, Kapanen and Konyushkov for Andersson.. if they really want to push and go for the CGY 1st and Mailloux, I'd do it with the extension.

Is he a 1? No.. but I think in terms of RD around the league, he's unquestionably a "1" kind of the same way Suzuki is a 1C.

I think having Guhle-Andersson as your top pairing is a very good top pairing to have, especially if Reinbacher hits the median of his potential and is the foil to Lane Hutson.

Extension can't be signed until July 1st as Andersson has another year and the pick the Habs got from Calgary for taking on Monahan will have already been used as Florida isn't likely to finish top 10.

Yes, but Calgary they don't need to wait to know if he wants to re-up after July 1st or once he hits UFA.

Prime-aged RHD capable of playing in a first-pairing, with no injury issues, and that would come with multiple years of team-control? Yeah, that would cost us a lot.

So many contending teams with needs at RD would flat-out beat our offer, so that'd drive the price up a bunch.

Basically, Andersson would be an insane grab and help make our team better for the next 5-6 years, but I don't think we're at that stage of our rebuild to go around and trade the kind of assets that would be required back in a trade for him.

Andersson has as said 1 year left after this one. If we offered Matheson who has 2 years left after this year and their 1st I wonder if that would be of interest to them. I would offer the 1st and Mailloux if that would do it.

If we could get Andersson he and Guhle should make for a very strong top pairing and I think Guhle would show more of whatever offensive ability he has.

Hutson gets the 3 spot and he needs a RHD to hold the 4 spot to give Reinbacher a chance to develop. If Reinbacher is the D HUGO thinks he is to take him at 5 I think he should be fighting for and hopefully grabbing that 4 spot in 2 years.

That could make for a very good top 4 and we have an abundance of guys to fill spits 5 and 6, namely Xhekaj and Struble right now.

They still have one more year with him. Is possible they trade Anderson in the next TDL in 2026. I'm not so sure Calgary want to rebuild.

Calgary’s first and either Reinbacher or Mailloux and maybe another piece depending on which one of them is in the trade. I really doubt that the team would do this though.

I think a big trade is coming. Too many assets. Way too many assets. Matheson isn't a long term solution.

I would not be surprised between now and deadline if habs get a 1st pairing defender.

Rasmus Andersson is the obvious target. Silly if Calgary retains him. Not sure I qualify him as a top pairing D, but he is quite good.

He’s a 1st pair, maybe not a #1 but e really good #2 .

High chance lol. How many years did it take for Andersson to become a good RHD?
Not only you want to trade a high pick (Calgary first) + but also a recent top 5 pick (Reinbacher).....

How about you give Reinbacher 2 more seasons before you give up on him for a 28 years old player.....
