I saw a comment online about trying to trade for Crosby in the off season and having a line of Laine - Crosby - Demidov next year. Crosby probably won't get traded, but if he somehow waives for Montreal, what gets it done?

Dach and a 1st? Yea, it's probably bad roster management trading a promising young player and a 1st for a guy at the tail end of his career, but I think that fact might make Dubas listen.

My guess is that you do this trade as a gamble that Crosby can lead this team to a cup in the next 2 or 3 years and that Hage can take the 2c spot when Crosby retires. Very risky, but a Laine - Crosby - Demidov line would be crazy to watch. Not only that but also the value Crosby would be off the ice to the young players in the room would be invaluable.
