Demidov is a HAB
he may be a target, but Cal may not want to let him go now or for what MTL offers.
I certainly would love him
We have their first which might be the trump card if it stays in premium draft territory.

Habs have all the assets to acquire a player of that calibre. I am 100% confident in that. It all depends if a key player in an alternative offer if preferred by Calgary. But the habs have the assets.he may be a target, but Cal may not want to let him go now or for what MTL offers.

I think MTL can make an interesting package for Anderson, I'm still not convince CAL is ready to let him go.We have their first which might be the trump card if it stays in premium draft territory.
you're bullish on him being a top pairing Dman? Asking because I trust your opinion. If he comes with an extension, I have no issues sending the Calgary 1st, Kapanen and Konyushkov for Andersson.. if they really want to push and go for the CGY 1st and Mailloux, I'd do it with the extension.
I gotta wonder if we were in on Borgen because we immediately made a trade for an experienced RD once he moved.
I'd take that. What is the cost for Matheson? Savoi a 2nd and 3rd enough from the oilers?
Calgary might not have a choice since Andersson is UFA and might not want to re-sign there.I think MTL can make an interesting package for Anderson, I'm still not convince CAL is ready to let him go.

I always see him as the Petry/Hamrlik mould.
He'd an insane add though.
doesn't he have an extra year after this one??Calgary might not have a choice since Andersson is UFA and might not want to re-sign there.
Extension can't be signed until July 1st as Andersson has another year and the pick the Habs got from Calgary for taking on Monahan will have already been used as Florida isn't likely to finish top 10.If he comes with an extension, I have no issues sending the Calgary 1st, Kapanen and Konyushkov for Andersson.. if they really want to push and go for the CGY 1st and Mailloux, I'd do it with the extension.
Yes, but Calgary they don't need to wait to know if he wants to re-up after July 1st or once he hits UFA.doesn't he have an extra year after this one??

Are they even allowed to gauge his interest before July 1st , 2025 ?They can certainly gauge his interest in extending with the Habs before making any trade.
And if Andersson isn't re-upping, chances are Calgary is shopping him as soon as this season ends.
Nope, not even in the ball parkWhat is the cost for Matheson? Savoi a 2nd and 3rd enough from the oilers?
Other than Calgary preferring someone else's prospect, I am confident the habs have the assets to match any package. For an extended Andersson they'd ask for their first back, Mailloux, and then we'd have to keep adding.
Prime-aged RHD capable of playing in a first-pairing, with no injury issues, and that would come with multiple years of team-control? Yeah, that would cost us a lot.
So many contending teams with needs at RD would flat-out beat our offer, so that'd drive the price up a bunch.
Basically, Andersson would be an insane grab and help make our team better for the next 5-6 years, but I don't think we're at that stage of our rebuild to go around and trade the kind of assets that would be required back in a trade for him.
They still have one more year with him. Is possible they trade Anderson in the next TDL in 2026. I'm not so sure Calgary want to rebuild.I think MTL can make an interesting package for Anderson, I'm still not convince CAL is ready to let him go.
You are insane if you honestly believe Kent will trade a Calgary first round pick + Reinbacher (top 5 pick) for Rasmus Andersson.Calgary’s first and either Reinbacher or Mailloux and maybe another piece depending on which one of them is in the trade. I really doubt that the team would do this though.
Reinbachers value is not of a 5th overall pick anymore. You are insane if you honestly believe Kent will trade a Calgary first round pick + Reinbacher (top 5 pick) for Rasmus Andersson.
I think you’re right.I think a big trade is coming. Too many assets. Way too many assets. Matheson isn't a long term solution.
I would not be surprised between now and deadline if habs get a 1st pairing defender.
He’s a 1st pair, maybe not a #1 but e really good #2 .Rasmus Andersson is the obvious target. Silly if Calgary retains him. Not sure I qualify him as a top pairing D, but he is quite good.
His value has NOT dropped. If he gets hurt again next season it will.Reinbachers value is not of a 5th overall pick anymore.
What are the chances he becomes a better player than Anderson is?
High chance lol. How many years did it take for Andersson to become a good RHD?Reinbachers value is not of a 5th overall pick anymore.
