The Kovacevic cry-fest reminds me of the time people thought Jordie Benn was a diamond in the rough bargain bin stud #4-5 D after a stretch of a few months.

We all know how that aged.

Andrew Berkshire got mad when the Habs traded Diaz away and wrote an article about how his advanced stats, or some BS indicated Diaz wad a top 4 dman

In the answers he says it’s huge and positive and it’s not laine coming back not demidov coming over.
Probably something stupid and then because someone in China farted in the wrong tone, but the correct time the trade fell through

Someone in contact with Georges Laraque and who knows the scoop liked my message that Gerard Gallant was going to become assistant. I don't know if I'm right on target or if he was just being polite.Gerard Gallant returns to the Montreal Canadiens: that sets the tone for Martin St-Louis according to Laraque

if Gallant is hired, Marty will become a figurehead and all the respect in the locker room will be directed towards gallant and end up with him as the headcoach imo

But stop gap might reduce the chances of that top one don’t you think ?
its about finding the balance. The team is going to be bad for sure, but you don't want to have such a hole at 2C that it hurts development. They need a guy to be what Dvorak is supposed to be. A third liner who can play on the second. Someone who is a better stopgap than Evans, but also like you're saying, not good enough that it puts us in no man's land.

Gallant left here because he could never be the head coach, he doesn’t speak French. His English isn’t that great either to be honest haha, great guy though and a terrific coach.

I wouldn't suspect HuGo cut MSL's legs out from under him by hiring Gallant like this.

One can only hope but then I d like MSL as assistant to Gallant rather than the opposite ;)

On a more serious note : I think at some point mgmt must say to the coach „we let you do as you wish and now it sucks so you ll do as we say or you are out“

I just think it will create a dynamic where the players want a real headcoach and not a figurehead so if its not gallant than it will be someone else

If it was a change to the coaching staff, I bet someone would have the scoop before Laraque. That's something Friedman et al would be all over.

Probably gonna be Robidas taking over the PP or something.
