Jeannot, or if you're going to pay, pay for Trenin.

Keegan Kolesar and/or Nicolas Roy could e available because of cap reasons from Vegas.

Brandon Duhaime is another solid bottom 6 player who brings a lot.

Got the jersey up and didn't do as well...

Roy is gonna cost a lot though, I could see a contending team giving a 1st pick for him

My personal target would be Jack Quinn. Not sure if he is available and even if he was he likely would cost a fair bit but I think he’s the best option out there that checks all the boxes: goal scoring, size, skill, age group, right handness.

I think he’s gonna be overpaid
Yes, he's gonna be overpaid, like pretty much all UFAs.
That's the cost to get a player without having to give up assets.
The problem is, people tend to forget that once the player is signed.

The question is, by how much can they afford to overpay?

I think he would be a very good fit for the Habs as a middle 6 W.

Not sure where ready to spend 1st pick on that type of player. That’s the type of deal you do when your a contender
I get the feeling this is the offseason where HuGo are going to flip the switch and go into '' we're looking to make the playoffs '' mode. Time will tell I guess.

Yes he does except that he can't stay healthy. Of course he never missed a game until I drafted him in my keeper league.
If Sabres make him available it's because they have decided he is a glass body which mean Habs shouldn't offer too much.

He does have that Dustin Penner vibe. I want him on my team, but he's so unproven you can't help being a bit scared.

I think they want to compete more for a WC spot but where not contending with our young Defensive group and only 1 line and ok goaltending

They have better goaltending than a lot of teams. And they have a 2nd line line if Dach can stay healthy - a long shot. Agreed that the defensive group is likely not ready. They will likely try to add young players to the nucleus and maybe add short term players in the new year if they are still in contention for a wild card spot.

According to AFP Analytics, the projected contract for Joshua is 4 x 3.25 but I also think he gets more.

Seems about right but the problem that this model doesn't account for is multiple teams vying to sign him, which of course, will increase the cost.

I don't really care about overpaying for a player that you really want, but there's obviously limits.

Free agency at root = overpaying, so it's all relative.

He's established and still young enough, I'd give our late first for him with no hesitation whatsoever. I may like him more than Necas TBH, if that rumored option is also on the table.
I'd do that deal if we didn't have any hopes on Beck or Xhekaj being able to occupy a spot in the NHL in the next 2 seasons. Otherwise, I feel it would be wasteful and would rather pick a longer shot with exercising the pick on a similar center.

Every team in the league would love to add a Dakota Joshua, he's gonna get $4-5m for 4-5 years at least I would think.

I'd take a look at William Carrier, seems like Vegas is letting him go. Could get him for a 2-3 years at 2m maybe.

It's Old juice arse I'll have you to know sir! I have mentioned Joshua before because I liked his style of play, I talked about Nic Paul in the past as well. I like the throwback style of the player and these guys remind me of the late 80's type of forward that was very common in the league.

Joshua can play anywhere in the lineup and look good and I think the Canucks would be wise to give him his money because some other team will. He is a late bloomer but will probably have 4-5 good years and it would be good to get a player like him. Joel Armia has the tools to be this type of player and he showed signs in the second half but I'm not about to get my hopes up when it comes to Yo-Elle.
It’s all good my buddy, I was only giving you the gears a bit haha

Not hard to tell we’re from the same part of the world and era, we like the same kind of rough and tumble players.

And the fact that you’ve got “Juice Arse” in your description now has had me laughing in tears for the past half hour.

No one cares
Canucks fans want him back but not at 4 million per season and some of them suggest he was a product of Garland and talked about his high shooting percentage this season and that he will come back to earth, most of them are speculating that a team will overpay and price him out of Vancouver. Maybe the Blackhawks might go for him to surround Badard with more size and talent.

If I'm a decent UFA looking to get paid, I'm definitely looking at Chicago as a destination. They've got a ton of money to spend and they're going to be looking to add. They're prime candidates for a dumb contract or two.
