Ya promise? They are going to ask for Harris + Allen.
Ya promise? They are going to ask for Harris + Allen.
How much more? A 3rd rd pick? Or an established prospect? That's an easy yes for MTL, but I would think Buf would ask for more
I think it’s more than fair to say that Suzuki would still be our best center when comparing their track records. People are claiming that Dach is our best center based on a very small sample size and some preseason games. This claim is way more of a speculation, not even close really.Saying he wouldn't have been is also speculation.
It's all speculation.
I dont know. Seems to me Allen as very low value (age, contract, performance, health). So the question is Harris close in value to Krebs? and what is the difference? Krebs has had is own issues so it would come down to how does Buffalo value his at this point and how much they want Allen. How much more? A 3rd rd pick? Or an established prospect?
Wouldn't it have been better (aside from tanking) to have traded Allen and kept deSmith? We'd have had two .910++ goalies.Seems to me Allen as very low value (age, contract, performance, health).

You’re actually purely speculating as you’re solely using a small sample size whereas I’m using seasons worth of evidence for Suzuki. It’s really not the same level of speculation. You say Suzuki would’ve been better.

Nick Suzuki: 235 points in 322 games
if I recall correctly, KH promised Allen that he would not be traded and said to DeSmith that he would be moved asap.Wouldn't it have been better (aside from tanking) to have traded Allen and kept deSmith? We'd have had two .910++ goalies.
If Lindstrom played at that level, I'd have no problem with speculating it.Nick Suzuki: 235 points in 322 games
Kirby Dach: 99 points in 212 games
That's firm evidence. Maybe your next speculation is that Gustav Lindstrom will win the Norris 8 times in a row since there is no firm evidence that can say otherwise
it is, but one scenario is more likely then the otherYou say Suzuki would’ve been better.

Yes, I agree but it's still what speculation is.it is, but one scenario is more likely then the other
I know you think I’m the Grinch but did Dach prove anything? He’s still a work in progress. He’s an oft-injured work in progress. Why pump his tires? He’s never even scored 50pts a season. If Lindstrom played at that level, I'd have no problem with speculating it.
Dach has proved, every time he played with the Habs, he had a level above he could reach.
Will he reach it? There's no guarantee, but there's a chance.
Just relax, man. I'm just properly using a word.
You can't possibly be talking about Strauss Mann right
Leader of maybesOn Insider Trading just now, Pierre LeBrun said that the Habs are fielding calls on Jake Allen. Nothing imminent but should heat up after the break. Devils and Canes have called
Both teams are heavy analytics decision driven and have seen Allen’s track record of browser line elite sv% when used 36GP or less with load management included (time of between games / limited practices) and viewed league wide as a great teammate & mentor for young goaliesOn Insider Trading just now, Pierre LeBrun said that the Habs are fielding calls on Jake Allen. Nothing says HuGo can’t both acquire targeted younger assets & trade older assetsHowever, according to information shared by David Pagnotta, the general manager of the Canadiens, Kent Hughes, could surprise by acquiring a new player between now and the trade deadline
Where was this? Maybe it's trading Allen for said new player.....ya never knowHowever, according to information shared by David Pagnotta, the general manager of the Canadiens, Kent Hughes, could surprise by acquiring a new player between now and the trade deadline
Yup - Gorton & Hughes have both said multiple times their picks are now collateral to make deals for NHL ready assets, and focus is not to keep adding draft picksAllen for a player makes more sense than Allen for a pick
