Hey, that lame drop pass actually worked on Saturday. I was stunned when it happened.
The drop pass per se is not the problem we are dropping too deep. The gap is ridiculous it boggles my mind.
We are also the only team I know of that doesn't support the skater with at least one player moving in tandem.
Gee zone entries are tough with four players standing still quelle surprise. :help:

This team is lazy on both sides of the special teams not enough players moving their feet.

There's a big difference between being picky & taking back crap. I'm not saying we need a 1st, but I'm not trading him for a 6th either.
That’s fair. I just don’t think a mid/late draft pick for an older inconsistent goalie making 4+ million is a crap return. It would really depend on what would have to come back with that pick to make the cap work.

They are probably interested in a cheap $$$ young Dman.

Only in a cheap $$$ Dman? Try cheap-ass acquisitions across the board regardless of position.

That’s the impression I get from the various pundits that have somewhat reported Oiler interest in players that would clearly require them to cough up.

Their only decent capital is probably a #1 draft pick and they'll ask for lottery protected I'd like to tell them to **** off.
They've already had far too many kicks at that can. :help:

I don't think we have many cheap roster ready players who can help them now and garner that pick lottery protected or no.
I doubt the Oilers are scouting for second tier guys at this point.

I love how this board keeps making definitive career statements on young players on their 2nd year after each series of good or rough games. Watching definite career calls here is like watching a game of tennis.

Slaf is a bust. Slaf is great!

Guhle is great! Guhle can't be a no.1 defenseman. We need to find a new one!

Here's a secret (hush hush): young players have their ups and downs while they're developing.

This forum makes definitive statements on a player’s 2nd year in the NHL? Try within 10 games and then multipolarity sets in as soon as he slumps. Trade him! Demote him? (Primeau, a couple of weeks back and risk losing him to waivers)! Waive him! He sucks! He’s good!

No heads nor tails but that kind of behavior also adds to this forum’s entertainment value.

Ok but you missed the irony. Nobody knows anything on 26 draft.
Wrong McKenna and Misa look like 2 top talents for the 2026 draft.

Too far away.

No idea, but I imagine after the 2025 draft the Habs will want to be going up.
That doesn't matter. If they can acquire a 1st in 2026 from a team that might be fading by then do it. Even after the team is a contender they need to keep reloading to extend the dynasty.

As far as I know, no team has ever pulled off this trick of acquiring a 1st three or four years down the road.

But if it could be done, I'd target Toronto, Florida, Tampa Bay, Washington, Pittsburgh, Winnipeg, Chicago, Calgary, and Edmonton.

Misa is draft-eligible in 2025.
Yreah. I had him in the wrong year in my draft lists.

Well Habs can end up with Calgary's 2026 1st.

jackeye+ Allen for Holloway and a 1st 24 + 1st 25 + Campbell
Personally I don’t want to anything to do with Campbell contract and I was never high on Holloway, considering what guy like Hagel, Chariot and Jeannot and what team that absorbed 5M$ in cap space got. I don’t think this is a great deal since if the EDM making me the playoff those pick are not worth taken 5M$ x 3 years let along also adding Xhekaj.

This board needs a trade....to get this site rocking
Just read our young D core are the 2nd highest scoring D in the league, and our forward group are the lowest scoring in the entire league.................
We NEED scoring from the forward group...............or a frickin trade HuGo!!

MSL has to get the forwards going...................what a crew.

Feels like the whole team is dry. This implies something is up with the tactics/coaching. Unfortunately we also have insufficient scoring depth... so maybe it's time to call up Joshua Roy? Inject some impetus.

On the other hand, it might be for the best to let the Ls rack up.
