If we got Sammy he'd make our 2nd line.I wouldn't be opposed to getting Sammy Blais to bring some jam on the 4th line.
You've heard of rolling four lines, but have you heard of rolling one top-six and three 4th lines? If we got Sammy he'd make our 2nd line.
We've come damn close to that these past two seasons. You've heard of rolling four lines, but have you heard of rolling one top-six and three 4th lines?
I know, we just need a first lineWe've come damn close to that these past two seasons.

I said the exact same thing to a buddy of mine. It was right around this time last year when he went down as well… I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened today, these back to back games look to be extremely hard on him.My boy monahan is absolutely cooked gotta flip this guy quick before he becomes a walking carcass

I'd love Sammy, he's a great player, and does a lot of what the Habs need.Sammy Blais
We've been getting bullied nonstop this season, I'd like for that to change since it's not like the forwards can score a goal 5v5. We got a shit ton of picks and prospects we can't sign anyways.I'd love Sammy, he's a great player, and does a lot of what the Habs need.
Not sure Id give assets for him though. We can sign him this summer if anything.
There's no reason for it as we have a true heavyweight that can play a regular shift in the NHL, don't expect this management to be smart abotu this, lol. We've been getting bullied nonstop this season, I'd like for that to change since it's not like the forwards can score a goal 5v5. He's already an impactful member for the Habs and he will remain so. He's one of the Habs 5 best D's, depending on where you think Struble, Savard and Barron rank. Only Matheson and Guhle are clearly better than him. He needs defensive work thats for sure, but the NHL is a fantastic place to learn defensive play, especially when your team never plays with the puck, since you get so many reps.It may be that management wants to develop Xhekaj so that he can be an impactful member of the Habs long term and not just short term.

I'd rather not have Xhekaj be the only one to not be a pushover, you're allowed to have more than oneThere's no reason for it as we have a true heavyweight that can play a regular shift in the NHL, don't expect this management to be smart abotu this, lol.
I agree, I think Struble, Guhle, Pezzeta, Anderson are a good start but I would prefer a guy that actually hits rather than fight. Like Blais, yeah.I'd rather not have Xhekaj be the only one to not be a pushover, you're allowed to have more than one
a 4th line of him, pezzetta, maybe Evans and another rugged winger to alternate in and out would be great.I'd love Sammy, he's a great player, and does a lot of what the Habs need.

agreed and i simply think there's not enough room in the lineup for harris, Gallagher, Caufield, newhook, Farrell, RHP...and Hutson? Just...no.I agree, I think Struble, Guhle, Pezzeta, Anderson are a good start but I would prefer a guy that actually hits rather than fight. Like Blais, yeah.
We seemingly have no one that ever hits on this team. Caufield is tenth on this team in hits... Its just unnaceptable. Pezzetta and Xhekaj alone take the Habs to 3rd last in in the leagues in total hits to 10th. We are f***ing soft without these two.
And there's also no rooms for bigger guys, or average size guys, that are just total creampuffs like Money, Dvorak, Kovacevic and Matheson.a 4th line of him, pezzetta, maybe Evans and another rugged winger to alternate in and out would be great.

there's a reason Slaf has thrived the last two games and a lot of it also has to do with being 6'3 230
I'm embarrassed to admit I wanted us to sign Reaves in the offseason, to alleviate the pressure on X fighting so much. We've been getting bullied nonstop this season, I'd like for that to change since it's not like the forwards can score a goal 5v5. Reaves has a 3 yr deal with the leafs, and then he will get a room next to Grapes in the home....I'm embarrassed to admit I wanted us to sign Reaves in the offseason, to alleviate the pressure on X fighting so much.
Thankfully management was smart enough to stay out of that bidding war...
Tough situation since the previous management group left such a poor assembly of vets.
Gally's the toughest, but obviously limited.
Anderson plays smaller than he is. As does Savard. Armia is a wallflower.
In adding Dach, Newhook & Matheson, they were targeting skill upgrades even more needed than physicality.
Would imagine that we'll see physicality being a targeted attribute this summer...
Trenin would be a very good target & be worth paying a premium. 26, hits like a truck, decent hands, very good on the PK...
I wanted him, too, but 1 year like 1 mill and told he wouldn't play every game.I'm embarrassed to admit I wanted us to sign Reaves in the offseason, to alleviate the pressure on X fighting so much.
