I doubt the thought has even crossed Hughes’ mind. Just wannabes connecting dots that never existed.Dangerous to trade Wifi. He's uncommon player. Selling on the low right now.

In 2017, when the Habs were massacred by the Rangers in the first round due to Radulov not having help, they actually had an open path to the finals. The Eastern Conference was quite weak that year. Given that the Habs' had an aging team it's too bad that the team didn't add at the deadline.
They added!!
How could you forget Bergevin masterfully acquiring King, Ott and Martinsen?
Not gonna lie I was kind of excited for Martinsen. Big, physical forward, with speed, but that's basically all he could do.They added!!

Sam Pollock's theory was
"Who got the best player"
Plus, several of Pollock’s counterparts were unsophisticated sorts.Pollock didn't operate in the current environment. Size of prospect pools and cap navigation alone significantly changed the trade landscape.
What a moron MB was. They added!!

Bergevin gave Julien what he wanted. Julien was a tool as well. What a moron MB was.
Did he reword what he said yesterday? Because yesterday is sounded very much like "nobody called to asked about their availability", now today is "nobody made a concrete offer yet".“According to my information yesterday, the Canadian has not received an offer for either [ Jake Allen and Cayden Primeau ]. That doesn't mean general managers aren't calling, but there haven't been any concrete offers so far. » - Pierre LeBrun
Pierre stirred the rumors now

What would be the point of calling without the intent of making an offer?Did he reword what he said yesterday? Because yesterday is sounded very much like "nobody called to asked about their availability", now today is "nobody made a concrete offer yet".
Which is quite different...
Dwight King was an asshole. He wasn't happy he was traded so he did nothing. Useless players can't afford to not show up. He ended up on some team in Siberia after that. Hope he enjoyed the beaches there. Not gonna lie I was kind of excited for Martinsen. Big, physical forward, with speed, but that's basically all he could do.
Dwight King f***ing sucked the most sucking of anyone who has ever sucked.
Ott was OK, but yeah, nothing the Habs really needed. Well, maybe Ott being a pest, penalty killer, faceoff guy, but underwhelming
They could be calling to ask what Hughes would need to move Primeau or Allen? What would be the point of calling without the intent of making an offer?
Of course numbers 2 and 3 of a threesome are available.
Werent Oilers scouts « chasing » them?
Thing is they might be calling on Montambeault now signed…
What does “interest” even mean? Once upon a time I had shown interest in Scarlett Johanssen..Garrioch said earlier in the week that the Kraken contacted Montreal. Just doesn't know if it's for Allen or Primeau. He also said the Sabres have shown interest in Allen.
Thats the last year the team was an actual contender. If you look back at who was moved at the 2017 TDL (see article linked) there weren't many impact players available that got moved. These so-called insiders reporting talks is hardly news. They could be calling to ask what Hughes would need to move Primeau or Allen?
I will admit that the league now is trading good players way more frequently compared to back then when Martin Hanzal was the best player available. That being said, Bergevin refused to make trades involving picks/prospects unless they had little to no value. He didn't want to include Poehling in a ROR trade, called Mete an untouchable, he wanted 2 2nds for Tinordi, refused to cash in on Beaulieu, kept Scherbak and Juulsen...etc We lost so much value since all of those players were lost for nothing. If you look back at who was moved at the 2017 TDL (see article linked) there weren't many impact players available that got moved. Look where Berg's got you though? First trip to finals in 32 years. You think these two clowns will get us as close to cup? You pipe dreaming if you do. Look at mistakes they made in just two years? The mess Laval is, hanging onto Anderson too long, ridiculous Allen contract. They made way more mistakes than Bergevin did in his first two years.I will admit that the league now is trading good players way more frequently compared to back then when Martin Hanzal was the best player available. All Hughes and Co. Needs is a previous regime to set them up with a decent team that just struggled to win close games. - didn't happenLook where Berg's got you though? Bergevin was gifted a generational goaltender, a star dman and another #1 dman, an elite goalscorer in a big frame, and one of the best two way players in the game. Hughes has to deal with one of the worst cap situations ever left over thanks to Bergevin with no star talent anywhere.Look where Berg's got you though? First trip to finals in 32 years.
