Meh
Let's aim higher

Probably not what you had in mind, lol, but IF Hughes can ascertain that Kuznetzov won't be a bad role model for the youth, he'd be a good 3c to have as a stop gap. The guy had 55 points just two years ago. Not sure he's washed up after half a bad season.

I wanted to go Suzuki - Dach - Monahan. But I'd be interested to try Suzuki - Dach - Kuznetsov. I think we'll add a winger this summer. That will bump Newhook or Roy to the 3rd line. I'd rather try Kuzy than Dvo.

let's be honest - nobody wants Allen at this point, the goaltending needs have settled down, should have moved him a long time ago when teams were in dire needs because of injuries. This stupid 3 goalie system was awful from the start, no way to get a rhythm and increase your trade value. Savard? Who really is going to give up anything past a late 2nd for him? Why even trade him at this point. So what other chips do we even have? Just moves for late round picks, not much more. I don't expect much to happen

Alright Kent. SELL. SELL. SELL Savard.

After the Walker trade, pretty clear Savard can get a 1st with a bad contract coming back.

Then again, wouldn't just taking on Johanson's contract deserve a 1st, even without giving up Sean Walker?

Wellp,

Let's just say, MTL is NOT cocaine free...
In fact, it's pretty much a BIG problem with several former habs having gotten hooked previously

You will never, ever, see Kuznetsov on MTL
Especially not in the middle of a youth build

There is no one who could return anything significant except Savard and it will likely retire a desperate GM to meet the asking price.

Exactly.

  • Jake Allen isn't going until the off-season
  • Brendan Gallagher is not a tradeable asset
  • Joel Armia won't go with term, he has to be moved in the summer.
  • Dvorak is on LTIR
  • Jake Evans can't go because we don't have the health down the middle to move him.
  • Jordan Harris trade unlikely to happen pre-deadline.
  • Kovacevic MIGHT go.
  • Savard MIGHT go if someone gets desperate, but unlikely.
  • Pearson might go at the 11th hour to a bubble team who can take his full salary.
  • They'll use a retention slot to broker a deal if they don't have to retain on a Savard deal.

That's it, that's all.

Habs will probably be pretty quiet between not and Friday.

Pearson will probably get traded for a low pick. Some team might see him adding a bit of depth and size in their bottom 6.

Small chance that Armia or Savard get traded, but I don't think that Hughes is actively shopping them right now.

We might see a waiver pickup.

Just gonna have to post every page that the Habs are unlikely to do much, if anything.

Anyone having great expectations hasn't been paying attention.
Exactly, only things that could happen are Kovacevic and Pearson for low picks, maybe Savard and Armia if the offer are there and that's it. Big personnel movement will be next year when all these players are UFA after the end of that year (Allen, Dvorak, Savard, etc)

Yes it's dangerous, and telling that Bettman doesn't want the NHL to test for cocaine, unlike other pro leagues. He'd rather keep the problem hidden under the rug than deal with the bad publicity from all the positive test results that would come up.

This is a poor decision imo we should move a defenseman while teams are desperate if we don't and end up trading one this summer for a trash reclamation project I'm going to be livid

Georgiev needs to figure things out before I believe in the Avs as faves. I still have Dallas as the best team in that division.
I think the Avs will be fine, especially with Nichuskin back and Landeskog potentially for the playoffs. The defense is already excellent, they had a dominant run to the cup despite Kuemper being crap in the playoffs so it's not a major concern for now. I'm getting frustrated that Dallas is being too cheap to make a meaningful add to the blueline, I think it could bite them in the ass.

The West will be a blood bath so unless the finalist is so beaten up by the time they reach the finals, I can't see an Eastern team winning it.

Toronto sleeping on the job so far

Only things? Like what do people expect for god sake KH to make a press conference where he says the earth if flat and Elvis is still alive?

If they trade Pearson, Kova and Savard it will be more than what i personally expect. I'd be happy with just us adding a 1st or 2nd pick this year. That'd make my deadline.

Dallas are stacked. They have so much depth in their top 9. They have skill, size, speed, smarts and playoff/cup final experience. They have a defenseman who's played at a Conn Smythe level before. The West will be a bloodbath however. They're going to have to go through teams like Edmonton, Vegas, Colorado... Ouch. Heck, even Winnipeg and Vancouver could be hard opponents. Meanwhile, the East is wide open for Florida.

1st is rather 6m range, 4m maybe a 2nd then add a 2nd / 2nd +3rd for Wlker and get a lte first I guess

And frankly, Montreal doesn't need to make a trade at the deadline. They have 12 picks in the upcoming draft including two 1sts. They're in a position where they can wait for the market to come to them.
