According to Dany Dube, apparently Rangers are regularly following us lately. He said that tonight. Who would they fancy? Evans perhaps?

I know who I fancy: Kappo kakko.

With Colin White out, should Hughes claim Sam Gagner? He had an "interesting" career but I know nothing of his character
Is white injured? Or did they just want to get RHP into the lineup?

Mantha going for a 2nd and 4th shows how things can change. A year ago he was unmovable. At ,5.7 million with term and 11 goals. Hope for Dvorak and Anderson
So many potential playoff teams are looking for centers right now...top 6, top 9 and depth centers. Dvorak ought to return us something a year from now.

I know who I fancy: Kappo kakko.

Injured his shoulder in practice the other day going into the post. Was placed on IR yesterday.

I'll translate for the English speakers

Ark= Gross or Yuck.

I somehow felt that the answer would be in this realm, even though I honestly haven't followed Gagner's career at all. I just saw how he was always tossed around and he somehow managed to continue playing until 34 y.o.

I might generate even more negative comments, but I kinda miss the times when soon-to-be-retired players came here and enjoyed playing in front of real crowds for the first time in their career. As far as plugs go, I always preferred damaged goods to younger beige players like Flynn, Martensen, Colin White and bleh (except maybe for Dale Weise against the Bruins).

I was wondering if Gagner was such a beige player that unexpectedly made it this far

I know this guy doesn't have any sources, but that's still a trade that I think is very possible this summer.

He has a history with Marty, Hughes and Caufield, he fits the age group, he would help to "accelerate the rebuild" and he gives us some insurance at 2C since we'd have a player that can fill in if Dach gets injured again.

I don't think there's any chance a trade for him happens at the deadline though.

If Zegras is getting traded, it's going to happen this offseason IMO.

I could see Pearson but I think Armia. He would really solidify the rangers bottom 6 options as they have ELC guys including Rempe who might not be needed come playoff time. The Rangers just need to put Armia in his spot, let him kill penalties and eat the clock when the Rangers are winning, and he'll probably chip in a few goals.

How highly valued is Edstrom? Is it worth trying to pry him away?
Adam Edstrom is a career AHLer, I also get him confused with David Edstrom, drafted last year by Vegas with the last pick of the 1st round.

100%, however I don't think it's a deal that will be made in the next 48 hours. This is going to happen in the off season

It's a close race to who's the least impressive in the category of mediocre young players..

Just for a laugh....Kotkaniemi has as many points as Jake Evans.

Anyways, this is a trade forum, so I wouldn't want to trade for either one of them.

Evans is also good defensively

Hard to say what the Habs do.. I do expect Savard to go because of how scarce the D market seems to be right now. Maybe Army due to his recent play? Other than that I'm not sure.

I dont know why, but NYR always got my mind going to Anderson.
With guys like Anderson and Armia, I'm ready to take back equally bad contracts in terms of term and cap hit, and for a worse player, as long as we get a future in the deal.

So my NYR Anderson trade is:

To NYR: Anderson (50% retainted) + ?
To MTL: Kakko + Barclay Goodrow

Rangers get to camp dump Goodrow, plus Anderson's size and Speed for the playoffs at 2.75M AAV on the cap.
We get Kakko. Plus Goodrow can fight and take away from the amount Xhekaj fights. Though Xhekaj seems to be doing well now. Or Goodrow can just be sent to Laval.

I doubt the Habs are playoff contenders next season either, but anything is possible. Keeping Savard has some value for the development of the young players and shows a commitment from management to having the right guys in the dressing room. If the Habs decide to trade him at this year's deadline for a good return (ie. 1st rounder or better), I'm not heartbroken over it. If they decide to trade him at a later date or keep him until his contract expires, I'm not going to lose sleep over that either.

For the record, I don't think they are going to trade him at this year's deadline. I think the Habs are pretty much done moving players out. I don't see teams having much interest in what the Habs have to offer.
I don’t think they are front runners, but once you make the playoffs, anything can happen. I could see the Habs being a bubble team next season if we avoid major injuries to key players. And if we get some luck in free agency or the trade market, I could view us as a solid playoff team.

The problem is that we have a long history of incompitant GMs since around 1989 or so which makes us feel that this boat of a team doesn’t turn quickly, but so far Kent and Co are demonstrating that those rumours have been highly exaggerated.
