I'm fine with moving Savard as long as the deal is right. I trust HuGo would only move him in that situation aswell.

I'm also fine with keeping him into next season. No rush to move him. I'm not interested in making trades just to make trades.
Same here

Wouldn’t trade him for what Tanev return but if someone panic and is willing to overpay then go for it

If we get more than Tanev, i’m fine with trading him. But at the same time, i love to see him pair with Xhekaj.
I'm here too. Don't just give him away, but if there's a trade to be made then do it. The D market right now is pretty hot, especially after Tanev has been traded.

That's why Savard still has value if you don't end up moving him. Because he's been real good for Guhle and is now being real good for Xhekaj. And while there is value in what you can get for him in a deal, there is value in what he's doing for your young D who are part of your future.

And Savard will end up being moved even if he isn't traded by Friday.

Other RDs who can be available are DeAngelo and Dumba, who are both UFAs after this season. So them being pure rentals could be more attractive than Savard, who still has another year. But Savard will be more attractive to a team who would like to have him for 2 potential playoff runs.

DeAngelo is also terrible defensively, an idiot, a hot head and a tool.

Honestly surprised he doesn't have his own thread here discussing how the Habs should get him, since they were interested before.

Right. But DeAngelo with his poor play and his known attitude issues doesn't bring half what a contending team would hope to get with Savard.

As you and others have said though, there may be more value in keeping him in Montreal than trading him.

While true, if Carolina is willing to retain 50% while also asking for a low pick, a team looking to add depth and not pay much could take a shot.

Good playoff teams prefer depth players without term. Seems pretty obvious every tdl. Tampa got Savard that way 3 yrs ago and didnt resign him despite the end result.

There is value in keeping him, as well as moving him if the price is right.
I think it is safe to say that pretty much all habs fan are ok to move Savard for the right price. I think where things fall apart is what is that price.

Bottom line here is that regardless of what happen, some wont be happy as the return wont be to their liking or they will argue that he should have moved at any cost. So another gong show to come, or as we say, another tuesday on HFboards!

But there's also value in having him at 50% of his actual cost for 2 runs. Could be appealing to certain teams

The return would have to be very decent if we are to retain.
I'd be stoked if we could move him because we could surely target a need other than a pick.
We are going to get a pick next season regardless so I'd be looking at the prospect option or hold.

SURE move him.. but KH better get a good piece back. no retention and a late round #1 which is a high #2..
need a good prospect

there is not a major need to trade him, so better get a very good return or screw it, keep him
