Some teams didn't want to pay the price for a rental like Tanev. You don't pay a 1st or good prospect for an average D rental like Tanev or Savard. But for two years?? it's a bit different.
Teams like Edmonton, Toronto and Vancouver will be contenders for this year's playoffs but also next year's. They are also kinda tight under salary cap. It makes more sense for them to pay a 1st this year and doesn't have to pass through the same process next TDL. Also, what i've been noticing lately is canadians teams seem to like dealing with each other.
I don't think TBay make sense and i doubt Habs deal with Toronto, unless they pay too big to pass on.
So i would say Edmonton is the most likely trade partner for Savard, followed by Vancouver. Then TBay and Toronto.
