So in a year when we're clear sellers again with lots of pieces that playoff or bubble teams would likely make offers on, we're sitting on our hands? Nothing ever changes.
Who should we offer? No one will want Gallagher, Allen, Anderson or Pearson.
Savard is huge for the development of our young D. Better to keep him.
We don't need any more late round picks.

Montreal literally acquired a 1st a month ago. Which is more than most rebuilding clubs will get this deadline.

And respectfully, guys like Pearson, Armia and Allen aren't guys that will get serious offers.

And if the right offer for a guy like Savard comes along, he'll be moved.

Yeah but atm we don't need a tier under, We need a star. Back when MB made the comment what we needed was a tier under. We already had Price a likely HOF goalie, Subban a norris dman and Patch a top 10 goal scorer in the league.

Patch was 4th in goal scored (17th in points) from 2011 to 2017 behind Ovy, Stamkos and Pavelski playing with AHL players. People really don't give enough credit to Patch what he did playing with the likes of DD and Weise is really impressive. So just a tier below center would have been fine back in the days. ROR, Zibanejad, ... anybody better than DD really which was not hard to ask.

But atm i feel like we need a star. Caufield is not there yet. Maybe he will but atm he is a tier below. Same for Suzuki. Again they could both still become those top guys but atm they are a tier below. A lot more goals are scored now than back in the Kovalev or even Patch days so you can't really compare their stats with those. 1 ppg in 2024 NHL is not that impressive. It's almost the 80ies again.
Once again not on our team no they are not.
Good teams may be scoring more but we are far from good.

Habs scored 262 goals in the 2007-2008 season which was Kovalev's best year as a Hab. (35-49-84).
That team had 7 players over 50 points compared to our 1 player last season.
We scored 232 goals last season and are on pace for 232 goals this season.

Trying to compare the Suzuki/Caufield production to that club is not a reliable standard at all.
If anything it demonstrates how well Suzuki is doing as he's close to Kovalev's pace.

Apparently the Leafs Assistant GM has been attending our games lately.

Savard is the perfect fit for them. Which is why I'd hate to trade him there.

Would you give the Leafs Savard 50% retained for a first?

Sitting on our hands? Dont confuse the lack of results with lack of efforts. The reality is that there is nothing of value to trade right now. Savard, Matheson I dont think other teams are willing to pay for them. Peason, Allen and the others dont have value. So what are you expecting??

In other words....trade are hard, it ain't playstation

We traded Monahan for a 1st lol..
And there will be SOME moves made by us at the deadline do not fret

But people expecting us to trade 5 guys for 5 1st round picks on Friday should really, really temper expectations...

We're talking about garbage here...

Pearson or Armia (with some retention) to LA for Kaliyev?

I've been naming Kaliyev for a while in this thread. Some like him, some don't want him. I'd take him. Although if I'm giving both Pearson and Armia while also retaining on Armia this year and next year, I'd like more from LA than just Kaliyev. I'm not talking about a 1st rounder, but at least another asset, maybe like a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

Well remember we got ... I mean Berg got us Dwight King, Steve Ott, and Martinsen on a TDL...

There is hope

Not both, just one of them, with some of our low pick maybe.

If they want both, we can accommodate sure.

I wonder if Vancouver could be tempted by a Mikheyev vs Anderson swap. Mikheyev doesnt have a role with the Canucks and they might want to gamble on the powerhorse resurgence approaching the playoffs.

Anderson 3 more years at 5.5M
Mikheyev 2 more years at 4.750
