Buffalo has a strong left side. They need RD.

Calgary is apparently interested which makes sense. The only 2 LD they have is Hanifin and Kylington. Hanifin is getting traded as he won't resign, and Kylington hasn't played in like 18 months due to personal reasons/injury.

Everyone else is RD.

Harris is young & cost controlled.

We need another 1st pick. :naughty:

Even if Habs were offered a 1st for Anderson, people stop there and don't consider what the rest of the package was.

My guess is that the other teams wanted Habs to retain, and they don't want to do that on a contract with 4-5 years left on it. Any team interested in Anderson would want him with retention and it's a logical ask. But I understand Montreal refused because they'd rather avoid having nearly $3M of dead cap for 4-5 years.

It reminds me of Subban when Nashville traded him to New Jersey. There were teams interested, but were asking the Preds to retain. He still had 3 years left @ $9M. Preds ended up taking a lesser return because the Devils were the only team willing to take the entire cap hit. Preds needed the cap room, so it was more urgent for them to move PK's entire cap hit so they were willing to take a lesser package.

I don't think Montreal is in a rush to trade Anderson because they've already started created flexibility with their cap in other way, slowly but surely.
I don't think Hughes wanted to move Anderson. Likely because he only physical force we have.

Either that or very misleading twit by Lebrun. I wish he would address it after D'Amico allegations

Wait till it hits the click bait sites
talking of it hear is click bait too... all ideas are just that

here is what some are saying on here...
“I really like Elias Pettersson in Vancouver and we know he is not happy there. Maybe not with the first pick this season, because he's important to the Montreal Canadiens, but whatever happens next, can we table him with a hostile offer?

I would select my pick this year and file a hostile offer for Elias Pettersson afterwards, I would do it. I really don't understand why teams don't use this strategy more often. When will you have the opportunity to have a guy like Elias Petterson in Montreal? You will never have the chance to draft a player like him, so do it. » - Maxim Lapierre

What’s a “hostile offer”? Does it involve issuing a few taunts and threats after it’s made? Is this what the “Canadian” should do?

Oh, you mean an offer sheet. Google Translate is not your friend. :sarcasm:

Yea, but I don't see why Ottawa would.
Tkachuk>>Caufield and Chabot>Guhle. Primeau doesn't hold much value so I don't see him moving the needle at all.

I added Primeau given how Ottawa doesn't have much in net. And he's a young man. So he if explodes there, it would be good for them.

For the deal, would you add our first pick of this year?

Great penalty killer. Strong on the puck and patient with it. Playing very well with Roy and Newhook. His shot is great. Confidence seems like its back.
Frankly if he can keep playing like this, id prefer him on the team rather than a 3rd rounder or whatever we'll get tossed our way
Kings calling around looking for wingers. Now that Kempe out for season

So Lavoie seems to be confirming Tkachuk really is on the market.
