Lavoie with his usual BS
Only a matter of time before this materializes. I fully expect Tkachuk to demand a trade and bolt to USA first chance he gets.

This guy solicited trade ideas for EP:

The users who chimed in with Habs packages had mostly players and assets drawn from this group:

Dach
Guhle
MON 2024 1st but lottery protected
WPG 2024 1st
MTL 2025 1st(Top 2 protected)
CGY 2025 1st
MTL 2026 2nd
Matheson
Reinbacher
Newhook
Mailloux
Xhekaj

There were also Suzuki and Caufield but doubt they’d be envisaged.

The name that had the most mentions is Dach — this is probably an indication that some fans are not confident that Dach can stay healthy. Ghule might be named by fans for the same reason.

Regardless of who and what is included, it’s pretty clear that it doesn’t hinge on the Habs having an intriguing combo of assets but on whether the Habs would be on Pettersson’s short list.

For EP, I think the only untouchable (as it would make no sense) is Suzuki.

I would even think about dangling Caufield.

I would try something along the lines of : Caufield + Habs 2025 1st (top 2 protected) + Mesar.

Use the later 1st’s and 2nd’s to get top 6 wingers like Kakko.

That would give us a center line of :

Pettersson
Suzuki
Dach
Beck

Although Dach would probably be playing wing in that case :

Dach-Pettersson-Demidov/Lindstrom
Slaf/Suzuki/Kakko
Newhook/Beck/Roy

Guhle-Mailloux
Hutson-Reinbacher
Struble-jackeye

talking of it hear is click bait too... all ideas are just that

here is what some are saying on here...
“I really like Elias Pettersson in Vancouver and we know he is not happy there. Maybe not with the first pick this season, because he's important to the Montreal Canadiens, but whatever happens next, can we table him with a hostile offer?

I would select my pick this year and file a hostile offer for Elias Pettersson afterwards, I would do it. I really don't understand why teams don't use this strategy more often. When will you have the opportunity to have a guy like Elias Petterson in Montreal? You will never have the chance to draft a player like him, so do it. » - Maxim Lapierre
Let's see Hagens in 2025 and McKenna in 2026 could easily be as good as Petterson. McKenna will probably be a bigger goal scorer. If Dach goes down again and one of the first line players Habs could have a high draft pick next year. I wouldn't give up 4 1sts unless it was for McDavid.

Sounds like Lavoie got burned commenting on Ryan Whitney's tweet about Sloth.

Lavoie should know better and not comment on these Idiot gambling & alcohol pushers rumors.

Lavoie with his usual BS

Staios will deny unless the player himself says he wants out publicly, that's his job.

His comment on Jacob *trade me f***ing now* Chychrun proves it.

Chychrun sounded off on the reports in an interview with The Athletic last month and Staios said that while teams are calling on the blueliner, it's "disappointing" word on that leaked.

"If I'm on the other side of things and looking at our team, he's a player that I'd be calling about as well," Staios said. "It is a bit disappointing... As a player you got to learn how to deal with this, just being an NHL player and the amount of attention, especially if you're an elite player like Jakob. Conversations happen all the time and names get bandied about all the time.

"Disappointing that it came out, I think that we do our best to keep these things in house out of respect for the players, in particular. But certainly it's that time of year so these things do happen."
