Yeah, Arpon Basu has reported that there's frustration growing among the young core about the losing and that the club wants to quell that. Said the team is mindful that the stench of losing can be hard to get rid of. Personally, I don't think they trade Savard. Apparently the younger players love him and Savard's preference is to stay put.

I'm guessing guys like Suzuki and Caufield are getting restless. It would make sense considering what they've experienced already (i.e. the finals).
Good sign.

I love Celebrini but have a hard time seeing him be a top 5 center in the league like Pettersson.
You could say the same think about Petersson. Not many people saw him as a top 5 center. He has drafted at 5. You also get a very young and loyal player in Celebrini. He will be only 18 years old next season vs 26 years old for EP. Lower contract. Growing up with our young core (Slaf, Hutson, Ghule, Reinbacher....).

Unless Celebrini goes full Eric Lindros on us. I don't see us ever trading Celebrini for EP.

Wait people would actually trade Celebrini for EP?

I like EP but there's not a single GM in the league making that trade. not a single one.

Celebrini is not Bedard or McJesus but he's not AL or Slaf either. He's a real bona fide 1st overall pick.

I'll even accept an NBA or NFL draft pick if it means trading Allen.
I'd accept Canadian Tire money. At this point i'm just going to be happy if we don't have to buy him out next summer or retain. If we can find a taker for the full amount even future consideration would be fine in my book.

Good news they hate losing

Bad news is the 20-30M of dead cap from Bergevins sabotage have a couple years left.

Endure

There is a big possibility and we can't really blame him. We have too many unmovable contracts, Anderson, Allen, Gallagher, Armia...

I don't think we move Savard so it might be a quiet week and a half here. I expect him to be real busy in the summer!!!

The big move was made and we got the return we wanted
Yup I said it when Monahan got moved.
I'm taking it like our TDL is done that way I won't be disappointed if/when nothing happens.

Yes there's no much KH can do until the summer of 2025.

I think it might be possible to find a taker for Price's contract after july 1st 2025 without having to give anything of value. There will be only 2 millions left to be paid with a 10 millions cap hit. I could see a team rebuilding and having trouble reaching the floor because of multiple ELC being interested in his contract. Armia will be gone. Dvorak will be gone. Allen will be gone. Retentions will be over in most cases. Alzner buy out will be over. Only Anderson and Gallagher will remain. A Gallagher buy out at this point wont be as punitive as it would be atm.

'Endure' equals 'Trade me'.

Pretty clear HuGo are going to have to do more than another young bet this off-season.
He needs to make moves or attempt to make moves to add a young NHL ready player or 2. He needs to tell Suzuki as much of what he is attempting to do as he can. As long as they can see that management is competent (which they are) and ownership doesn't interfere they should have patience. If management was incompetent they should try to get moved asap.

I don't see your point. He wasn't seen as a top 5 center in the league, but he still became one. Jason Robertson was not seen as one of the best wingers in the league, does that mean you wouldn't trade Mesar for him since Mesar was drafted higher and also isn't seen as one of the best wingers in the league?

EP is from the same draft class as Suzuki, he's still in his prime and will be for a while. Lower contract doesn't mean much when it's highly unlikely Celebrini's ELC performance comes close to what EP does. That also includes Suzuki though. Lightning won the cup with 30 year old Stamkos, 29 year old Hedman, but also 24 year old Point and 31 year old McDonagh as key guys. Your core guys won't be similarly aged.

I don't see EP even being interested in MTL so this is all fantasy talk anyways.

With the NBA first overall pick. The Habs are proud to select Alexandre Sarr. We believe his 7ft1 size would bring lot of toughness to our team! We see lot of Zedno Chara play style in him. Also being born in France. He also speak french and should make our french media very happy!

Vegas is not winning with the current lineup. But if they leave Stone on LTIR for the regular season and add a piece or 2 it's very possible. Canucks have a good chance to win the Cup this year with Pettersson. They could keep him and retain him next season and trade him at the 24-25 deadline if he won't sign.
Vegas will get Jake G and then pull Stone of IR start of playoffs

that will be here sooner than we think....

This year made a lot of lemonade about the Dach injury, and we stress-tested a lot of players so we have a better sense of who would stick around for the future. Another season with a healthy Dach is another step forward, and with whatever the team adds in the offseason will bring the team into the playoff wildcard race, and based on that season the summer of '25 is the perfect time to start looking at big swings.

We will not rush him in the NHL. We will take the time necessary for his development, starting with learning how to skate.

Yeah, this team will be bad one or two more years. After that they'll probably be mediocre. Hopefully they're a playoff team in 3-4 years, if the young players develop well.

I miss aligned his name on capfriendly, I thought he was UFA this year. Then this is PLD all over again and Brisson is involved again...what a (not) surprise.

I wouldn't wait for the summer to trade him, because if I was the Canucks I would trade him to a team out of the playoff (they would get better pieces that way).

There is nothing wrong telling a team you wants out/don't want signing long-term with them. Why some players just decide to play the silent game and act like nothing is happening is beyond me.
They want to avoid having the fans turn against them and questions from the media.
Imagine the circus if he said he didn't want to re-sign long term in the middle of the season.

It doesn't bode well for Vancouver.

I am more optimistic. If we can have 2nd line of Newhook- Dach- Roy we will improve a lot and we can fight for wildcard spot next year.

Depends
You can try to obtain them in the draft and hope and wait
Or you can try to obtain through trade/signing which they probably look at with the #1 D thing

It's certainly the second one.....the draft, especially for D, could take at least 4 to 5 years before becoming a real 1st pairing D. So it's UFA or trade.

It was already revealed that Petersson doesn't want to look at any contract stuff until the season is over and refused a $12mx8 offer.

And since his agent is Pat Brisson, we will see a lost of media "leaks" to get him traded where he wants to go. Probably will use the Habs to raise his client value again.
