baby come back!

You can blame it all on me!

I was wrong.

And i just cant live without you :tmi:
When you say baby come back, which one do you mean?
This one:

Or this one:

Ha, it would have had to be a donkey story for that.
Great minds think alike but fools seldom differ.

I'll let you decide which ones we are.

I wouldn’t put it past him. He talks about the long term all the time. Signing EP at 12m will be the first block towards Cap issues. Tough to justify 4 million extra over Suzuki with the way Hughes thinks. I’m not diminishing EP, it’s just Hughes has reapeatedlynmentioned his philosophy on salary, retention etc
I do think it’s easy to justify why EP would win 4 millions more than Suzuki.

He’s way better offensively and defensively then him

Offensively? For sure. Defensively? Suzuki has been significantly better defensively this season.

It is easy to justify Pettersson making 4 million more. Beyond buying up more UFA years, Pettersson is one of the best 5v5 point producers in the NHL and is even better on the PP. And scoring costs more.

So if Allen is traded to Anaheim with no retention they are allowed to retain 50% to move him on?
Yes, a player's salary can be retained twice by different teams. No restriction on who retains outside having the player's rights (including via paper transaction in a 3 way transaction), having the cap space for it, not going above the max retained salaries amount (15% of the cap) and can't have more than 3 salary retained per season.

Would we get more retaining 50% on Allen or acting as a third team to retain in a 3 way trade?

The UB40 version is a cover of The Equals' song from 1966. I didn't post it for 2 reasons. You're not an old fart like me so wouldn't know it and I didn't want to clutter my post and be accused of sidetracking the thread which I think I may have done anyway.
How old is your fart sir? Cause I can assure you, I’m not a young toot.

Gally crying the blues to Stu Cowan, here is deal Gally you suck...and you make big money
Can you share your Russian Pravda link to this story?

Team was kinda of depleted by HuGo selling high some quality assets who were acquired by BargainBin. Again, this is open for debate because Hoffman and Pitlick were not. The rest of the depth left behind has negative value due to term or caphit. It's a long list: Dvorak, Anderson, Gallagher, Armia, Price, Savard and Allen. The future looks bleak. Caufield and Suzuki better get used to mediocricy for years to come. Can Matheson, Dach, Newhook, Guhle, Monty, Slaf, and the others coming offer salvation?

Mock trade proposed by Sportsnet — no rumors involved.

Getting out of Allen’s contract without retaining and receiving a 3rd rounder? I’m in.

Yup. I'm sold. I'll even take a 4th. A 3rd would be great.

Anaheim is getting too much and Habs not enough.

A 3rd round pick to get rid of Allen? You feel that' not enough?

Really? If the Habs can get a 3rd rd for Allen they take it and run. Not sure what you’re expecting.
It's going to be a low 3rd. Pretty much worthless. I would at least want Anaheim's 3rd. But if they find nothera use for the last retention spot I would probably do it.
