If he said so, I’ll take your word on it. Seeing EP is sitting on 12M, I would think he may be holding out for more. At that price, I just can’t see him committing to that and risking cap issues in the next couple years. It’ll be interesting to see whatbHUGO does
He wanted to wait untl the end of the season which was stupid. Why risk 100 million to see if Canucks look like a contender?

No chance in hell Ottawa trades Tkachuk unless he asks out. He gave them a bitch of time to get a deal done but he did commit for 8 years and is the captain. I guess he could be sick of being there but I don't know, seems unlikely.

he may also be setting a bad example as captain for the other kids which may be something they want to correct by getting a haul back for him and changing the culture of the team.

I wouldn't put Holtby and Crawford in there. Holtby's career with a whisper but I believe he was a Vezina winner and had many excellent years for the Capitals. Crawford was an awesome starter for a lot of years. Very underrated despite the cups.
Nah they would have been slightly above average goaltenders on any other team. Holtby was really good for 3 seasons. That’s not a franchise goalie, he just got hot at the right time. He played for a team that just dominated possession. Crawford played for a team that had two HOF defencemen, and HOF two-way forwards. I’m not saying these guys were crap, but you put either on the Habs and they are basically Montembeault.

Agreed. Crawford was an average goaltender on a very good team.

MB gave a 1st for Dvo
And a high 2nd round pick (our 2nd this year).

People often also forget the 1st round pick MB traded was the best of Carolina or Montreal except if one was top 10 (like our pick of Calgary next season). So it could have been a 11th overall pick and this year 2nd round pick for Dvorak in the worst case scenario. 🤮

Mock trade proposed by Sportsnet — no rumors involved.

Getting out of Allen’s contract without retaining and receiving a 3rd rounder? I’m in.

No, we don't.

This board can have a debate about what coloured socks to wear.
Why is an elephant wearing blue socks?

Answer: he’s on a team.

Why is that elephant now wearing red socks?

Answer: he was traded to another team.

And this completes our segment on socks and trades. :sarcasm:

In the land of stupid mock trade it's actually not the most terrible one i've seen. Avs are giving too much though unless they would be able to extend Henrique for a year or two before the trade is made and even there that's a lot to give and likely too much Behrens is not a run of the mill prospect.
