You're right about Armia. He's having a pretty decent season after all.
I don't get this obsession some here have with wanting to get rid of him at all cost. It's not like he's Gallagher...lol
He's on pace to score 20ish goals and he's +1.
He's 6'4, 220 lbs and can play up and down the lineup. The Habs don't have too many of those.
If you can get something for him, great. If not, just keep him.

It will take way more than a 3rd to get another team to retain on a 4M contract with another year left on it.
That's why it won't happen.
Armia to some extent has remedied the problem he became after covid.
The players all seem to genuinely like the dude. This even when he was playing shit.
While he isn't going to run players into next week he does play a heavy game something we need more of.
I'm not sure what moving him will accomplish in the short term.
I find he can be one of the bright spots in our bottom six even though he is playing a second line role.
There are definitely 3 or 4 players I would jettison before him.

Meier aint doing squat in NJ, let's get him out of there and solidify our top 6 for a few years.. He doesn't fit with the coach and is exactly the type of big framed proven scorer i'd want next to Dach. Any pick prospect or Dman except Guhle should be on the table for Timo... Having him in the Newhook spot would finally give us a real net presence on the PP. Andy +++ might give NJ something to think about with the lower cap hot and term.

Savard is very valuable to the team, as a vet with great mentorship and leadership qualities as a crop of future Ds make their way to the lineup.

He’s also someone with Cup experience who can be valuable as a playoff warrior and who is at a reasonable AAV. There’s gotta be a contender who wants this guy for two playoff runs — and who might be willing to overpay. If the right price is being offered, can’t see how Hughes doesn’t jump on it.
I would definitely trade Savard, personally. He's been nice the last two years but I don't want him on the team next year.

The habs need a young elite talent. Not a 28 year old top 6 forward signed to a mega contract until he's 35.

Meier way overpaid. He's only averaged 0.69 ppg in his career.

You want to do an average over long term not cherry career year or two.

Domi had 72 points one year. But look at his average long yerm
Who cares if u don't like Meier then u must not like Caufield because Meier is a way more proven goal scorer and way more physical.

He is totally over-rated no thank you. Big Pass and DUMB signing.

Around the 8:00 minute mark Lebrun confirms that the Habs have contacted the Ducks about Zegras though he isn't being shopped and 4-5 teams have called about Zegras
Great catch. Interesting.

So the media keeps talking about them shopping Zegras, but now they're NOT shopping Zegras... Hmmm.

It does sound like he's available though. Could be too rich for the Habs blood at this point depending on what they want

But WTK swore up and down that HuGo would never be interested? How can this be?
As the previous poster wrote: the media have been saying for weeks that Zegras was being shopped, but here we have LeBrun saying that he isn't being shopped while also claiming that Hughes called the Ducks about him.

How unfortunate that just as Hughes call the Ducks, Zegras is no more being shopped...

It's a big issue that the insiders mostly throw up BS/speculations as fact to get views/clicks because they don't actually have enough real insider info to make a full job out of it.

Difference between being shop and being available

And Lebrun is reliable at the opposite of the twitter insider

I consider being available as the same thing as being shopped: the player is available for a traded. So if Zegras isn't shopped, that means he's not available either.

Friedman is supposedly the most reliable and we are still waiting for the imminent Markström to Devils deal to happen.

None of Hughes's trades were known until the papers made it to the NHL office. I think people should keep that in mind when insiders keep bringing up the Habs in every trade talks.

Also, nobody ever find it weird that's it is always 4-5 teams that are interested in a player in those insiders tidbits?

edit: For the record, I don't think the Ducks are planning to move Zegras at all. That all started with them acquiring Gauthier, but Gauthier doesn't replace Zegras on their line-up at all.

Different sources for different teams. There seems to be a lot of smoke for Zegras as a trade possibility. The Habs are just a logical destination for him: he fits the timeline, they need offence and he’s bff with one of our core players.

But players like Toffoli, Petry, Lehkonen, Chiarot, Kulak, Edmundson were all reported as being available before they were traded by Hughes.
