Can;t wait for Gallagher's return tomorrow. It will be something to behold.

It's ridiculous that you can't give him even even for free. What about other leagues? Can he be traded to other leagues?
Habs can't even send him to the Rocket, the only thing they can do is health scratch him.

Maybe offer him under the table money like, here you go Gally 5 millions more if you go in the player assistance program.....fake something

Can you provide any resume please?

On trade talks:

They are in no rush to resolve anything with people on term.

They won't have 3 goalies next year but won't commit to resolving it prior to the deadline.

They are still looking to draft but will look at the players like Dach/Newhook in the right age range.

Doesn't rule out eventually getting someone a bit older if they fit a need, like leadership, etc.

What’s this “put on waivers for mutual contract termination” thing that happens occasionally? I’m assuming they can’t for some reason?

That requires the player to agree to contract termination, something Gallagher won't do with all the money remaining on it.

He definitely wouldn't do it until AFTER his $9M payday next year. Even then, he'd still be giving up $6.5M and $4M over the following two years. At best, they'd buy him out in his final year but only if they need the space.

They might not need Cap space. but they do need his roster spot already.

My guess is if he don't go on LTIR or by miracle a trade happens, they are going to buy him out in Summer of 2025.

The part about Dach/Newhook screams Zegras!

With Hutson, Reinbacher and Mailloux close to being ready.

We gonna have a decision to take and its gonna be obviously between Struble and Xhekaj. (Matheson, Guhle, Hutson and Mailloux, Reinbacher as RD i think are the obvious keeper.) Its a tough call honestly.

I would do everything possible with our 1st RD pick this year, WPG pick, Struble (or Xhekaj), could also add Beck/Mesar to secure Cayden Lindstrom or acquire Quinton Byfield in LA since they are going in the gutter.

Caufield - Suzuki - Slaf
Roy - Dach - Lindstrom/Byfield

Thats a massive, massive top 6.

8OV + Struble + WPG picks is a steep price but it might be the king of overpayment for us to take the next step.
I wouldn't mind seeing xhekaj become a forward if he can't crack the Dmen

I repost this trade simply because I think it could make a lot of sense for each teams involved. 3-way trade

Matheson + Evans + 2nd RD pick 24 to TB for Sergachev

Sergachev to WAS for Leonard

TB gets immediate help (and a much cheaper replacement who produces at a better rate), a bottom 6 C which they absolutely need (for next year also) and an extra pick which they need.

WAS gets an amazing dmen wholl help them win with Ovi, Wilson, Carlson and cie starting next year.

With Leonard, our lineup would only need 1 (ideally 2) more top player (with our first). Best case scenario would be to get Celebrini our Lindstrom, and then to pull out a trade for Zegras with our remaining assets (+picks that we could get for Savard, maybe Anderson, etc). But lets use WPG and CGYs first as a base for Zegras (which is more than fair imo).

Thats a legit scary lineup
Caufield-Suzuki-Slafkovsky
Zegras-Dach-Newhook
Roy-Celebrini/Lindstrom-Leonard
Heineman-Beck-RHP/Armia
I make those trades all the time on nhl 24

That's when both parties agree on termination and I think it implies a buyout of some sort, because the CBA obliges.

The NMC does not protect him from a regular buyout, which would be insane at this moment, or LTIR which would require him to fall allergic to his own equipment :sarcasm:
