What type of return you guys think we can get for Harris? Sportsnet mentioned to watch out for Calgary on Harris. What could we get??
I really don't see them retaining on a 4 year contract.at 50% retained:
- Pearson
- Armia
- Allen
- Anderson
No retention:
- Kovacevic
- Harris
and then for the right price there are:
- Savard
- Matheson
Probably a second. But, I would love Honzek. How has he been this year? What type of return you guys think we can get for Harris? Sportsnet mentioned to watch out for Calgary on Harris. What could we get??
That's going costs them another nugget. They usually want to see what it is out there. Next contract be Tanev last contractI think that means Tanev of any potential UFA would have to sign an extension before The Leafs give up the 1st
Depends on what they offerNot worth getting him. I don’t mind taking on a bad deal but it can’t be for ore than this year and next.
It would have to be a ridiculous deal. There’s no way we should take on that contract esp when we’ve already got two goalies.Depends on what they offer

With someone like Zegras, you have to ask yourself why he’d even be available from a team like Anaheim that’s in the same position that we are in now. Young 22 year old center with a few 60 points seasons yet he’s constantly in trade talks even before the down season. The reason he’s available is because he’s soft as butter and if you have serious aspirations of winning, those aren’t the kind of players you have filling out your roster unless you’re Toronto.
DET, LA, EDM, TB should be all over him. Hughes would be a fool to let this opportunity pass (once more just like he did with Anderson). You cant fall in love with your own playersIf I'm any competitive team and watch Matheson lately and want a cup run, I jump all over him and overpay.
Actually NYR would also be a prime destination for him. I wonder how theyd feel about including Miller in a trade for Matheson? We could then ship Miller+ to a team in need of a yound D for a top F prospect (like Leonard in WAS).DET, LA, EDM, TB should be all over him. Hughes would be a fool to let this opportunity pass (once more just like he did with Anderson). You cant fall in love with your own players
Buriable contract next year. Has had good AHL numbers .No. Type of journeyman who risk having a career year giving it all since it would likely be his last chance. Been there done that you don't want this type of last chance journeyman in your lineup.
Zegras to Montreal just does not want to go away. Has to be something to it. Much stronger than usual rumoursIn his text yesterday for The Athletic, Eric Duhatschek talked a little about the Zegras case, and his conclusion was clear: the Canadian and the Ducks “look like two potential partners” for a transaction involving Zegras.
Vegas made many trades to build their team. We're not there yet but At some point we're going to have to pull the trigger on a big trade for an elite F. Like what Vegas did with Eichel.
This is how we're gonna solve our lack of elite talent because it definitely won't be through the draft unless we get lucky. We have the assets to do it
Imagine the persistence Zegras rumours are because of his history with Caufield. But if Hughes is confident he can fix Zegras, get him at 75% value could be good oneSlafkovsky - Suzuki - Caufield
Dach - Zegras - Newhook
Habs can only retain 1 more salary this year since they're already retaining on 2 others.I really don't see them retaining on a 4 year contract.
I don't think they are that thin ... not only do they have Robertson and Knies, but also Cowan and Tverberg coming up. Last two look real good and are burning up their leagues. Also Minten is looking good for them. They are also negotiating with Maxim Tsyplakov from the KHL who would also be a minimum player. Besides, teams don't use more than a couple of these and use free agency minimum players to fill in.
Every year somebody posts that the Leafs don't have any players coming up, but every year they always show up with a bunch.

If we do trade for Zegras, we can forget another smallish forward. So you can forget Catton, Demidov etc. Wouldn’t be surprise to see us pick Iginla or reach for MBN if thats the case.
Tampa doesn't have much to trade anymore. I wouldn't bother trading contracts with term if all you can get is low picks and reclamation projects. We have enough of those already.DET, LA, EDM, TB should be all over him. Hughes would be a fool to let this opportunity pass (once more just like he did with Anderson). We won't trade for Zegras, so it's moot.
