I always thought ‘day to day’ meant that the player is assessed daily to see if he’s ready to play.

42-20-2 without him. 64 games. 86 points out of a possible 128 (67%). Not a small sample size at all. The playoffs is a small sample size, but you get the Stanley Cup at the end of it if you win. The Olympics and World Cup are even smaller.
