Brossard, QC
I doubt either of those two would do it. According to where Isles pick. Wifi would do it though
I would hope that Barron would get a first. He was a first round pick who's already had a few years to develop, and he's a RD.

Otherwise that would mean his value has dropped since the Lekhonen trade.

Aha I see. You are expecting him to improve. Personally I am not, but I can respect your opinion. In any case it would be exciting if we got him because he certainly has the razzle dazzle!
Wonder why you dont expect a 22 years old player to improve has he gain maturity and experience in the big league?

Would you guys do

MTL : Savard
for
VAN : Podkolzin + 3rd 2024 + Myers (Gamble on Pod here)

or

MTL : Savard + WPG first 2024
for
VAN : Lekkerimaki + Myers (we sure could use some RW prospect)

Van could really use someone like Savard.
He would probably be their best RD some nights.

K well I subscribe to the athletic and I haven’t seen an article by Shayna that says this. Anyone have a link to that article?
She posted an article on Jan 16, naming 6-teams “who should call Ana for Zegras”, Habs were #1. Excerpt…

A Zegras trade brings so much intrigue because he appeals to so many different teams, all at different phases of the contention process. First, there are the rebuilding teams.

A rebuilding team could gain an edge in the process because they likely have the cap space for Zegras’ cap hit and future assets that would appeal to the Ducks. Montreal’s one of those potential rebuilding fits in a position to take big swings for skill, just like it did with the Kirby Dach trade.

The Canadiens don’t need Zegras to be their 1C, that’s Nick Suzuki’s role. Now that Suzuki’s developed into such a two-way player, it opens the door to a second line with more sheltered usage for Zegras. Having a one-two punch of Suzuki and Zegras would help spread out scoring, and force opponents to re-think defensive assignments instead of just focusing on shutting down Suzuki and Cole Caufield’s line.

Zegras would only add long-term potential to Montreal’s young core, even with some of the flaws in his game. Time with a head coach like Martin St. Louis could help him find ways to elevate his skill set, too.

Thanks this is helpful.

She’s not giving out any new insight here into potential trade discussions. She’s Only giving her opinion on where she thinks he should go.

We shouldn’t take opinion as news.

I would agree to both.

Lol. Difference here is between 2 statements:

1-Someone’s opinion that we’d make the best match for Zegras

Vs

2-inside info that current trade talks indicate that we’re the front runners to get Zegras

——

We can debate opinions all day long. Facts are a different thing. But I guess in todays world it’s all the same for some people. Maybe I’m just too old timey

I went through the Zegras thread on the Anaheim forum and they don't want him to be shipped off.

I get he may be soft, but it's not like we'd be bringing him over to stick up for Cole .. We need more talent. Why wouldn't we try to bring in a player as talented as he is IF he really is available and the price isn't outrageous?

Cause the price would most likely be something we have not or don't want to get rid of.
It's always the same in these situation.

You won't get Zegras unless you sacrifice one of the big pieces.

I'm sorry, I think it's valid for those to be concerned about the price it'd take to bring him - My comment was more for those who don't want to bring him in

Pitt is obviously all in this year.
Closing in the Playoff spot.

What do they need ?
They still have their 2nd 2024
They have really good prospect as well in Yager and Pickering

Crazy idea maybe but.............

Who would swap Josh Anderson for P-L Dubois 1 for 1 with Dubois retained down to Anderson money ($5.5M)?

Four year longer contract for PLD but the guy is four years younger.

Dubois stats underwhelming this year, but still better than Anderson, and most other years were much better.

But we know MB loves Anderson so might LA be tempted to shake things up?
