A little bit surprising.
Seems almost any time hf seems a player will get claimed they do not.
It's a pretty easy and obvious angle... Serves clickbait interests of the publication and the links btw Zegras & MSL/Caufield/Hughes + Hughes '19 draft affinity + Habs roster needs & timelines...According to recent information from journalist Shayna Goldman of The Athletic, the Montreal Canadiens are identified as the first team on a list of six potential teams to which Trevor Zegras could be traded.

Zegras would make a lot of sense for this team. I don't understand why people say otherwise.
Cause our fan base is allergic to offensive talent and then complains about the lack of talent.Zegras would make a lot of sense for this team. I don't understand why people say otherwise.
Geoff is that you?I feel like he is overrated and a bit of a tweener. He definitely has skill, but not enough to be a true franchise/star player so i would prefer to save my money and pay up for a true top liner.
Because the likely cost is high for a soft, one-dimensional player.Zegras would make a lot of sense for this team. I don't understand why people say otherwise.
Can you link that?According to recent information from journalist Shayna Goldman of The Athletic, the Montreal Canadiens are identified as the first team on a list of six potential teams to which Trevor Zegras could be traded.

A Subway sandwich if you ask on the main board. So, what can the Habs get for a package of:
Habs 1st in 2024 + Peg's 1st in 2024 + Justin Barron + Christian Dvorak (cap)?
6” meatball. Nothing fancyA Subway sandwich if you ask on the main board.

As you've seen there's talk about the Habs having to trade their 1st for him. Habs first is very likely to garner them Cayden Lindstrom, or Ivan Demidov (hopefully). Both project to be better than Zegras. Both would be under team control longer, too.
The majority of us aren't against it, we just don't want to pay the price for that type of player especially when the Habs already have a soft, one dimensional player in Caufield.

Last deadline she called a bunch of stuff, but I don't believe it was anything major. I'm pretty sure she said some stuff afterwards that didn't come true.shayshay has called a bunch of stuff IIRC, so this frightens me. No thank you to Zegras.
I can't agree with that. Zegras oozes talent and everything he's done so far suggests he will become an elite player. He was drafted 9th overall, he became Team USA's all-time leading scorer at the World Junior Championship, he went over ppg as a 19 year old in the ahl, and he had b2b 60+ pts seasons as as 20/21 year old in the nhl. That resume is pretty much as good as it gets for a player who isn't elite yet at the age of 22.
If Lindstrom or Demidov are available, then I don't think we would trade our pick for Zegras, especially considering they are projected to go top 6.
