I don't know about that. Why would a team be tripping over themselves and give up a 1st to get Monahan who will likely be a 3C for them this early on? Hughes has also refused to claim some waiver guys, it would be dumb to waste an asset when we have fewer games remaining.
To get the only cheap centre on the market who is capable of being a decent 2c. I don't see a team winning if Henrique is filling in at 2c. And that leaves Lindholm - if he on the market it should cost much more than a 1st, And even if Calgary retains they may still need to move a player for cap room.

The way Friedman was talking, there is « no love lost » between the Rangers and Gorton, meaning that they don’t like each other at all.

Would be silly for that to stand in the way of a mutually beneficial deal when Hughes and not Gorton, would be doing the talking as he should, in his role as the team’s GM.

If the Rangers are really interested in Monahan i would go after Will Cuylle.

ok here me out...
Savard for the Tampa Bay special...12 draft picks

Savard won a cup with Tampa only 2 years ago. Do they still like him as much now?

The trade back then: Bolts send their 2021 first-round and 2022 third-round picks to Columbus; Lightning also acquire Brian Lashoff from Detroit in exchange for a 2021 fourth-round pick.

Just means Habs won’t be giving any friends and family deals to the Rangers. Better for us. :)

Considering how well versed Gorton is about the Rags, I’m surprised nothing has happened with them since he’s been part of Habs’ management.

The only fairy significant player that I can’t think of to really get moved was Kravtsov and they got nothing for him. They haven’t been active but I’m sure Gorton knows who he’d want, and who he wouldn’t. Dangerous for Drury to have HuGo as a trade partner.

So they are going to toss the white flag and give up on the season?? And no one is expecting a 1st and a great prospect. A low first (assuming NY adds a player or 2) plus a B prospect is not much to give up.
Of course Drury may be an idiot.
Thats how i see it.. unless Money wants to go to a contender (he may not want to anymore) i would not trade him for anything less than a high 1st + A prospect..

Otherwise, his value just playing with Slaf is worth more to us than some measely 2nd rndr.

I'd like to see him signed to a 4yr x $6aav in our offseason as he is a huge puzzle piece to our C depth woes.. sure he has the injury history, but we're not going to find a 2/3C better than him in our system (yet)... and quite frankly, next year we have to be eyeing a playoff WC spot.

This is our last official tank year. After 24 draft/summer signings. I'd like to see a roster that has a shot at WC. We'll be young.

So go ahead Rangers...
I hope the 28thoa pick '24 + Kakko will help you go deep in your run to the Cup, last one for a while.

I wonder how many Kakko searchers there are on Google are at the moment. :sarcasm:

Bro, Kakko drafted in 2019. It’s pretty much a done deal at this point!

Habs did pick up Lias Andersson.. a NYR bust.

Then I think you will be happy when they are actually traded because I think they will all get at least what you are asking but probably a bit more... although I'm not sure they will all be traded..

I'm not, Drury must be weary of looking like someone fooled by his formed boss with the entire fanbase watching.

I was thinking about something around Reinbacher for Laine(depending on the nature of his player's assistance leave), but I didn't see a fit with Columbus already having Jiricek. If it's true that things are souring between Jiri and the Blue Jackets and they move him(unlikely), then I'd be calling up Jarmo to see if there's any interest around a Reinbacher/Laine deal.

Absolutely not!
