Here's an ugly trade for you assuming Hart is gone for the year

Allen + Armia for Deslauriers + Peterson + Florida 1st 2024

7.25m out, 6.75m in

Philly has Florida's 1st this year, would be fun to get that pick considering it is implicated in the Monahan trade.

Full house of scouts and even AGM, so of course the players shit the bed and are terrible. KH probably couldn't even trade Allen for a bag of pucks at this point.

It depends. If HuGo are 100% sure he is going to re-sign with the Habs then as long as they get a fair price let him go to Bos or Tor. If there is a chance he could sign with Bos/Tor then the price goes up a lot.
Plus where Monahan wants to go plays a factor. Lot of moving parts in this trade

Philly passes.

They don't care to make the playoffs behind closed doors.

That's from the NHL Network.

Habs say yes a billion times.

I think that with the Habs rocking 3 centres, it’s pretty apparent Hughes is eyeing a young center in the Monahan trade to step in the 2nd line center role.

Some possibilities would be Savoie, Mittlestadt, Ritchie, Raty, McGroarty, Lucious, etc. no shortage of good young center talent available.

Whose giving up a young center that can step into the 2c role for a rental like Monahan? I just don’t see any potential trade partners giving us anything of value for him unless it’s magic beans which I’d gladly take if it includes another first round pick.

I think folks need to tame expectations.

The habs are not likely to fill a roster hole by trading a rental at the deadline. You'll get picks and some b prospects/prospects that have showed slow progression.

The only way to fill holes is to make hockey trades. I'm not sure that happens this season. Probably only happens in the off-season.

Still holding out hope that Petterson refuses to sign with the canucks and the habs pick him up.

Some teams may have a surplus of young forwards or no real openings for them to break into. Reality is we just don’t know and we’ll see sooner enough. But the gapping hole at center right now needs to be shored up and Mony is the best chance we know is available at doing that IMO.

I wonder what kind of hockey trade can arranged for Carey Mittelstadt. What does Buffalo need? Seems like they need offense as well, which is weird that Mittelstadt's name is out there.

Hum, it's a 1st, a nobody and a LD? I say pass... We have enough experiments with Barron, I bet we could just swap Jones for him.

Edit: Oh and Jones is UFA, now that's a serious pass. We can get better.

Dont think the Habs would do this, Kovalenko is basically a top 9 winger for 800k for the POs.

Kovalenko is doing well up until his injury in the KHL and did so last year as well. It would be a very solid, skilled prospect coming over and then a 1st.

Jones is just a contract I imagine. Doubt he's in there because he has any value.
