Look like the Avs is another team looking to address their goaltending.

Colorado will have to take some decision since next year, even with the rise in Cap Space, they will have $1,77M of free cap space to sign 10 players.

They need a goalie, a center, cheap players and they need to shed some Cap space
Seems like after the Newhook and Lehkonen deal, the Habs is once again a great trading partner for Colorado.

Hmmmm, interesting.

Proven is not necessarily always a good thing.
Zegras has proven to be a flawed player. He's lost a lot of shine since being drafted.
No team will give a top 5 pick for him anymore. Probably not a top 10 pick either.
You could definitely make a strong case that a top 10 in the next draft wont be given for Zegras. Top 10 next draft will be very good. I've seen Buium 10th ish on some list. Do you give Buium for Zegras personally i would not too many red flags.

Beside a pick, they don’t habe anything interesting from our point of view. Even their pick is gonna be a late one.

Colorado situation next year will be pretty much the same as this year. All their top players are under contract for the same cap hit except for Devon Toews whose cap hit will increase by 3 millions. More than certainly 2 of those 3 millions will be covered by the salary cap increasing. The other millions will probably be covered by switching Francouz by a 1 millions goalie. The rest of the players they have to sign is depth. If Landeskog comes back they'll be in trouble but i think he is done.

Zegras has the same or even more value than Caufield..... yould you trade Caufield for guys like Anderson Mailloux and a first?? Probably not...

It depends, that trade would make sense of Caulfield was the 5th or 6th best forward on the team, and if the team was weak at D.

Landeskog was at practice today and skated with the team. He's not supposed to play this year, this is part of his rehab. He might try to play next year.

Hughes isn't going to lower his asking prices just to move players and GMs don't appear to want to spend so far this year.

This is the NHL trades since the season started on Oct 10th, in reverse order (most recent to oldest).
- Drysdale + a 2nd for Gauthier's rights
- A 5th for Tatar
- A 5th and 3rd for Zadorov
- A 5th for Beauviller (moved to create cap space for Zadorov, the 5th is even the same as in the Zadorov trade)
- A 7th for Bogosian

There was about as many AHL level trades made as well, which is actually low compared to just last year which wasn't that existing in term of trades either.

It's going to be another rather underwhelming trade season. Event he rumors mill is quiet outside the media making their "trade bait" list.
Every year trade deadline season starts with a deal mid-Jan timeframe and domino effect of moves start to kick in approx 2-3 weeks later.

Happens every year, but all players being moved happen on expiring contracts once in a while you get the Seth Jones / Johansson type swap deals

Bottom line - don’t expect Savard or Matheson to move, Monahan & Pearson are more likely

We don't have anything interesting for them either outside of Monahan. They could not care less about our overpaid vets like Allen, Dvorak and Armia.

I'm really curious who's gonna end with Money. We need the additional 1st rounder in the 17-24th range this year - it's the last call to get in our "core" train according to "the Plan", and it looks like a deep draft.

Unsure if the Avs part with theirs, considering they don't have a second nor a third.

Have people seen our offence? Flawed or not, I’d be making a strong pitch to acquire Zegras. Remember, the Habs don’t need him to be a centre. I think he’d thrive as a winger. We also can’t really evaluate or develop talent worth shit, so it’s probably best to trade for someone we already know can produce.

Agree but I can surely envision a Savard departure!!

Especially with these rumours of Reinbacher making the move to NA, would make sense to move him as he’s an attractive player for a contending team.

Matheson is 99% not going anywhere

Agreed.. this team lacks offense so bad it's a sad thing

I didn't see the "Out of Town" thread so I'll put this here: Patrick Roy has refused two coaching jobs in the NHL that he refused cause they were out west and he feels like the travel is too much there. I wonder who are the two clubs?

I'll throw you a few guesses with no inside info :)

Anaheim, Edmonton, Nashville, Calgary.

I would wager if I had to wager that Edmonton was one.

This team still needs Savard at least until the end of this season, and even next season. Reinbacher and Mailloux are a good year and a half away from NHL hockey.

I feel Savard is the big ticket for trade bait this year. Blocks and clears the net out. EDM may call

Savard will probably be traded in 2025. We still need him. We have a very young D core and Reinbacher and Mailloux are not NHL ready(yet).

I could see both Reinbacher and Mailloux play the last 20 games of the 2024-2025 season.

I wouldn't move Savard without acquiring another veteran dman and that's not obvious with the value this club has and the cap space left.

I see all those “Jake Allen to…” rumours but I don’t see a middle ground between what a team would offer (without retention) for Allen and how little HuGo is willing to accept to move Allen (that is a good vet that plants trees etc).

I think Primeau is the one being shopped / likely to be traded. If I’m a contending team no way I’m grabbing Allen with his current play + year remaining.

Calgary 1st for Zegras is too much? You are out of touch, it wouldnt be enough. We would need to add a good prospect to that pick. I think most people would agree with me on that. The clown you must be trolling

It took the 13th and 66th pick to get Dach which was way a less proven player then Zegras. Unless Calgary 1st in in the top 5 its absurd to think it would be an overpayment for Zegras. I understand you want to trade crap for good player but thats not how it works
Dude the only trolling i do is on the Ottawa River on a nice summer weekend. If Zegras is all that and has the value of Caufield why would a team like the Ducks who are also rebuilding trying to unload him?I don't see Hughes trying to unload our young guys. Why is that do you think?

Brendan Gallagher for Pierre Luc Dubois.
And Halak and a second

On a serious note do you think the Kings have seen enough of
Dubois already to try and get rid of him and that contract?
