This statement is so flawed its funny… If mtl does end up picking 8-12, the top 4-5 dmen of the draft wont be available… And smaller skilled players like Catton, Helenius, Demidov probably will (similar to Zegras)We are talking, in 2024, about a draft of star defenders. Lots of defenders shooting from the left. We just saw one play with the United States, Zeev Buium, an interesting one. We can talk a lot about Sam Dickinson, who plays in London.
The Canadian risks drafting between, let's face it, 8 and 12, you risk finding a defender. You can find a defender like Kaiden Guhle in that range in this draft. You won't find a player like Trevor Zegras " - Marco D'Amico
How old are you, 12?i wonder if baldy and fatso knew Cutter was available? I would have made an offer for that kid

Catton and Demidov shouldn't be in the conversation with Helenius, and shouldnt be available around this, anyway. This statement is so flawed its funny… If mtl does end up picking 8-12, the top 4-5 dmen of the draft wont be available… And smaller skilled players like Catton, Helenius, Demidov probably will (similar to Zegras)
His join date is like 1999, thats factually impossible. This makes me wonder if you are in fact, 5 years old.How old are you, 12?
that's just pathetic if this is true and this offer was passed on by montreal.Pretty sure that dude posted here and people and by people I mean me, but likely others would roast his ass for not being the smartest.
Also, a bunch of posters here who I'd trust 100 times more than that person said the exact same thing.
There's a fair chance he might not want to come to Montreal.that's just pathetic if this is true and this offer was passed on by montreal.

If he were, I'd still prefer the Askarov and Wood over Gauthier

Yeah, not gonna lie I figured take a forward and then a d this year.Faire enough, and considering the amount of D this year as well... seems like we could have made other moves

Habs have Reinbacher and now all we can do is go with it and hope the young man does well and back him as much as we can so he feels the least amount of pressure as possible. He didn't ask to be that sought after, or to be drafted here. Hate the GM and whatnot, but let's not hate the kid.
Not directed at you, just a general comment.
I'm good with passing on this deal. Not that I wouldn't want Gauthier. But I'm not letting Philly get my 5th OA pick without offering their 7th OA pick.
wonder if that deal could have been made? Good point though, gotta deal from a position of strength when you can
Is it? Do we need another prima donna after Drouin? A 19 years kid asking for a trade. Refusing to explain or speak to the GM.If this is true then the Habs must really be high on Reinbacher because Gauthier is the type of young forward prospect you would want. Then again maybe Gauthier made it clear that he didn't want to play in Canada...who knows
The 7th and Gauthier (5th overall) is a little bit to much for Reinbacher. From what a Flyers beat writer said, the info he got is that Flyers offered Gauthier to Habst for their 5th OA to select Reinbacher because they felt they would still be able to get Michkov at 7th, which indicates all PHI wanted the 5th AND keep the 7th.
For me, if they were willing to swap picks, I'd be all for it. Basically MTL receives Gauthier + 7th for 5th + another piece. But apparently that's not what Philly was willing to do.

If anyone wonders if Zegras would be a good addition to Habs, he got hurt and won't return tonight. So he would fit in here.
Agreed, the only way that trade works is if they swapped picks and Montreal added a solid young player to balance it all outI'm good with passing on this deal. Not that I wouldn't want Gauthier. But I'm not letting Philly get my 5th OA pick without offering their 7th OA pick.
I totally agree I hope this is the guy that makes a fifth pick worth whileYeah, not gonna lie I figured take a forward and then a d this year.

Lagrange is himself blowing a lot of hot air since GMs have had their lot of mistakes.
What if Reinbacher wasn’t all that? Still a lot of racetrack to go before anyone can definitively say what’s what. A little early for posturing, I’d say.
