Pettersson is starting to become one of the premier 3 zone centers in the entire league, he brings way more to the table. You can build an actual winner around a guy like that.

Dreger was on 690 today, said Habs were in discussion with Canucks about Connor Garland. Habs willing to take on his contract but asked Canucks for a sweetener. Canucks balked

Guess they don't really want to move him... Not sure any team takes on his contract without a sweetner

Height 5.10 -- Weight 165 [178 cm/75 kg]

Why the talk about Connor Garland?

If Hughes' position is that he should get at least a 1st, then I agree, and I also think that the Canucks won't bite, so too bad.

Hughes should have asked for a 1st or Lekkerimaki to take him. Habs could throw in a late 2nd or 3rd

i think Monahan will be great on that line once Dvo comes back

We know Monahan works well as RW1 with Caufield-Suzuki, but at this stage - with both Newhook and Slafkovsky seemingly overwhelmed - might be more opportune organisation-wise to use Monahan as C2 instead:

Caulfield - Suzuki - Newhook/Armia
Pearson/Newhook - Monahan - Slafkovsky
RHP/Pearson - Dvorak - Anderson
Ylonen/Pezzetta - Evans - Gallagher

2025 1st would be good but the problem is what do you do with Garland? You waive him and hope someone takes him. If not, then what?

Might work if Vancouver also takes on a cap dump.

For example, Garland and a 1st for Armia.

Or Garland at 50% retention and a 1st for Harvey-Pinard.

I thought there was a chance to snag him from Vancouver, but I can't see how Vancouver let's him walk. He is one of the best players in the planet.
