I don’t think he offers much more than what a minimum cap hit player would.evans is an asset. a boring one but one nonetheless. definitely want him around

IMO he would waive Armia but not Allen.I'll be surprised if HuGo is willing to waive players like Allen and Armia.
That would make the most sense. Armia is a waiver-claim repellent although I wish he weren’t.IMO he would waive Armia but not Allen.
They have to retain on 1 of Armia/Allen/Gally and move them, just gotta figure out which 1.. if they can retain 2M on Gally and move him it would be worth it.
I think they can swap contracts for Armia and Allen because they only have 1+ season left (after this 1). Could just waive whoever they get afterwards.
obv i wouldn't move a 1st, it could end up being a high pick but we have enough prospects/young players to make it enticing for someone (Kidney/Farrell/Barron etc)Even with the Habs retaining $2 million on Gallagher’s contract (which would give him a 4 year $4.5 million contract) they would most likely have to give up a 1st and maybe more to trade him.

well we can nitpick on stuff like this endlessly, Matt Murray was pretty terrible/had a really bad contract/played in the AHL and Ottawa managed to dump him just for a 3rd without taking anything backIt would have to be a better prospect than that I suspect. It took a 2nd to trade Bailey and Petry this off-season and Gallagher’s contract situation is worse. I can’t see Gallagher being traded, the Habs may elect to buy his contract out in future off-seasons.
I won't shed any tears if he left but he's a known commodity and has a lot of character being a 7th rounder and all.I don’t think he offers much more than what a minimum cap hit player would.
For?Trade Allen to TB
I hope it's not an omen of future contracts thoughIt does look like the Allen extension is the most significant known blunder of HuGo.
I'd give away some picks and someone like Ylonen to take Jeannot off their hands and swap Allen. He's exactly what we need to help Arber in the truculence department. For?
Try coming up with a trade that keeps them cap compliant, where we do not use our last valuable retention spot and do not end up with 3 contracts more to make it happen.
Tampa will likely go after a lower cap hit option. A Martin Jones on waiver or a Halak at league minimum.
So Habs should pull a Laf on Slaf?Well Rangers have pretty much given up on Laf. Of course, he's largely to blame, but I never saw how he could overtake Kreider and Panarin as the LW when he's on the 3rd line. I would be interested to see how he'd do with Suzuki and CC assuming he's cheap.
Laf-Suzuki-CC
Newhook-Dach-Anderson
Slaf-Dvorak-Monahan
RHP-Evans-Pearson/Gallagher
Laf/Newhook are not comparable to Panarin/Kreider. Not to mention that this lineup wouldn’t be permanent. So Habs should pull a Laf on Slaf?
Too bad we have too many forwards. Samuel Fagemo has been put on waivers by LAK. He's scored a combined 50 goals last 2 years in AHL.
Really good shooter, although another righty.
Trade for him if he clears?Too bad we have too many forwards. Samuel Fagemo has been put on waivers by LAK. He's scored a combined 50 goals last 2 years in AHL.

If he's that good, he's probably going to be taken by one of the teams in front of the Habs in the waiver claim order.Too bad we have too many forwards. Samuel Fagemo has been put on waivers by LAK. He's scored a combined 50 goals last 2 years in AHL.
