Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Deal they were talking about was with Oilers long term. Maybe it comes about next summer?
Pezzetta will probably get sent to the AHL even if Slaf doesn't make the team.

...waiving (hopefully Goodbye to) Hoffman (and probably Armia) should be done first...
You're too harsh on these guys man, everyone was trash last season.
...Hoffman is trash...and unless Armia somehow wakes from his years of slumber more often than once every dozen games or so, he's not in much higher company...leopards don't change their spots...

+Dumba trade is possible simply because of Wild Cap problems and need to resign other players next year. Other teams might have better offers though.

+Calgary giving up a 2nd to get rid of Lucic contract is feasible.
Hoffman still finished third in points last season behind Suzuki and Cole.
Guys don't go from the AHL to top 6 either. Most rookies start on the 3rd or 4th line, and their age does not matter.
Brady Tkachuk and Andrei Svechnikov, big wingers similar to Slafkovsky, don't fit your narrative.
I have no problem with Slaf playing in the AHL if he is struggling, but hopefully it's to learn to play defence, not offence.
Slaf will definitely learn things in the AHL the question is if he should go there or just start learning in the NHL right away.
Every year lesser players than Drouin and Lucic move at the deadline for picks. Both likely would require retention, but if they are healthy and playing even decent hockey, they'll easily return a pick or prospect
I wouldn't imagine Minny trades Wallstedt unless the return perfectly matches their current/mid-range needs... & Guerin may well consider him untouchable period.
They likely won't be able to re-sign Dumba, and will be staring at a hole in their D without cap room to address it... Barron perfectly fits their needs & DVO upgrades their mid-6... & Combined they take less cap than dumba's current deal.
Is that + Primeau & a 1st (or 2nd or 2x2nd) enough IF Wallstedt is not untouchable? Who knows... Only certain thing is that the Wild have a 12M cap charge this year that rises to 14M the next 2 seasons and they've got a bunch of key roster players up for new deals in that period (dumba, Zuccarello, Hartman, goligoski, both goalies, boldy, Foligno...), so if they want to stay in playoff picture or push to contend, they'll need to put a premium on acquiring cost-effective assets like DVO & Barron...
Yeah it's nice to dream. They have calen addison in addition to Brock faber. Christian Dvorak would be 4c on Minnesota considering Rossi is 2c, and Joel Eriksson ek, one of the best two way C in the league is 3c. They simply aren't trading wallstedt, and aren't parting with dumba. Their gm love him and Barron who wouldn't start in MIN and Cayden, nothing piece would never come close to getting eitherTo Cgy

You certainly make many deals. I doubt Hughes improve team greatly this year. I think turn around is draft '23. Plus free agency.To Cgy

Hughes will make many moves near trade deadline. Add picks and prospect depth. Which Secure long term future. Habs end up close 32 million in caproom next summer.
He maybe trade Calgary first with decent player for top player. Like Fiala or Debrinkat this summer, trade similar. An 80 point player to play with Suzuki and Caufield. His second line be Slaf and Dach plus may be his first pick in '23 draft? Or Dubois on second line. I think chance he trade for him.
Same goes to Gally and Anderson....and was still hot garbage and responsible for far many more goals against than he was for...pity every other GM in the League knows it as well...

There is some value there, but not much, because of his 4.5M and two years left. We have too many of those types of guys who have no value because of money, term, and sucky performance......
Hoffman, Drouin, Gally, Armia, Byron, the Bergevin Crew, 24 M between them, and nothing, absolutely nothing from any of them in the last season or two...........
Is there data to back up your claim? I'm just curious. Having said this, I'm in no way a fan of Hoffman and I would rather get asset for him. From my perspective, I hope that KH get's many asset for guys like Hoffman, Armia, Drouin, Byron and to some extent Gallagher in order to clear key spot in the forward area. Now Montreal can't draft 10++ players every year so will see if they can flip these asset and become competitive sooner then later....and was still hot garbage and responsible for far many more goals against than he was for...pity every other GM in the League knows it as well...

Gallagher & Anderson might rebound, Hoffman won't - he's hard to get rid of for this reason.
No it doesn't. Anderson will be in demand from other teams because he is a power forward He has weaknesses and limited hockey sense but that doesn't seem to deter GM's from wanting him.
If Gallagher rebounds he would have been of interest to some GM's. But no one is taking that contract.
Hoffman is useless except on the PP. I doubt he can be moved until next trade deadline.

Hoffman was 3rd in team scoring last year. I think he can have a better year than last with a better center like Dach, setting him up. All depends on where and with who he plays, I think.

Think any chance they sign Pacioretty as UFA next summer? Short term contract finish his career here. Might be good fit on Suzuki/Caufield line

If they are planning on going with the defense as it is, then a bottom 5 finish is almost a given, we are going to get shelled by Atlantic teams.
