Not Dubois again .We already need to get rid of Dvo because we have too many centres

That should be the focus right now.....cause if Monahan is healthy, we can't really carry Suzuki, Dach, Dvorak, Monahan and Evans and keep everyone happy.

And I think there's some suitors out there ready to pay up for Dvorak.
Colorado and Dallas have some cap space, they could really use a center like Dvorak.

Monahan's serious lack of foot speed will make him a winger. They might try to play him with Dach since Monahan is pretty good on faceoffs.

Slafkovsky Suzuki Caufield
Pitlick Dvorak Anderson
Drouin Dach Monahan
Armia Evans Gallagher
Dadonov Pezzetta Hoffman

I have to think the Habs move a forward still not even cap wise. Just body count. This is also with Byron on LTIR to start the season. Monahan based of his media meeting he seems like he is aiming for opening night. I mean Drouin might not be fully ready I suppose. Slafkovsky I would guess makes the team, but maybe they give him time in the A.

Just alot of bloated contracts still and putting them on lines where they don't fit.

Yeah you gotta figure more moves are coming. Even if Slaf plays in the A, that still leaves an expensive winger being scratched. No can do.

Perhaps not the right way to do it, but asking some of the more 'self-assured' posters to admit wrong is substituting fantasy for reality.

One would think we would all be tired of acquiring players with bloated contracts.
It wouldn't be a bloated contract. HuGo would offer a market value deal. If he wants more than he is worth they will tell him to take a hike. Because the problem contracts are the ones where a player is paid far more than he is worth and/or for a term that will outlast his usefulness.

This was suggested on the main board:

TO NYR
Jake Evans

TO MTL
Nils Lunqvist

Hard to move Evans, but our forward group is now packed. Especially considering that if we draft top 10 (likely), we are more than likely adding a centreman

Our RHD is lacking, even though Lunqvist could bust - I think I would consider this.

Look at the assets we can acquire renting out caproom next summer. Can you imagine next off season we on pace for 32 million in caproom? Provided Price stays on LTIR and Dvorak is traded at deadline. Habs could add 5 first picks over next few drafts. Maybe more if Anderson is traded.

At some point Hughes will have accumulated enough additional prospects and draft picks, and he should focus less on selling. Adding five additional picks would be too much in my opinion.

Montreal doesn't want Price on LTIR if it can be avoided. Montreal's going to have a number of ELC players going forward with bonuses they can hit and it would be preferable to not have overage penalties every year.

I say trade Dvorak.

Not as a cap dump but as a good player with term and digestible cap hit.

Suzuki, Dach, Monahan and Evans will do just fine as our depth in a season we don't expect to compete in.

And next year assuming Monahan leaves?

I'd rather not trade Dvorak until we know we have both 2C and 3C covered.
