Campbell is the #1 in EDM and Skinner will back him up if mid season things didnt work out maybe then they will look at Allen and why Varlamov over Jake is that a serious question?

Yeah, you're echoing what I said about Campbell and Skinner but you're once again overlooking how Allen would be an upgrade. The issue here is they will not pay the price for the improvement. Not because Allen sucks.

Allen and Varlamov are close in potential. Yes, that is a serious statement. And Allen has an attractive cap hit where Vegas can look for forward improvements for this season as well.

Not that dumb because Allen would be dirt cheap against the cap if we retained.

Even if they signed Campbell for 8M, he ain't getting the job done himself. Oilers should learn from his time with leafs and get him a good 1B goalie to take some pressure off and help out.

Apparently, Campbell is capable of playing 60-65 games and Skinner is proven. They have fixed all their goalie issues permanently now. No chance it don't disappoint.

Of course Allen would help out many teams in the 1B situation. Thinking otherwise is just wrong. Problem is cost to acquire... Habs are not trading Allen for cheap and no, he don't suck. If a fan wants to look at his stats playing on a bad team, go right ahead.

So wait you think EDM gives Campbell that contract to be what exactly a goalie that plays 30games?

Imagine Hughes giving a goalie a 5year 5mill contract but still calling gms to look for another starter

If Habs bring in an expiring contract in Monahan and find a way to ship a player with term without retention in the process, it will be a good move.

If we can ship Hoffman or armia out that would be great. Not sure how much cap Calgary needs but armia might make more sense since his cap hit is smaller

A 3-way trade between habs, nashville, and flames?
The habs take Monahan, but get rid of a player or 2 with terms (hoffman, armia)?

Might not be Nashville. Looks like they have something cooking with the Avalanche via their Twitter accounts' interactions.

Can't believe I just typed that out, but here we are.

Have to think it’s to move Hoffman/Drouin if Montreal is involved somehow.

Montreal has too many wingers as it is…

Who you thinking? Hoffman? Armia? I really hope it wouldn't be Dvorak going back since I still see him having some value league wide while Hoffman and Armia not so much.

Only way I see a Monahan trade is if we give them a Drouin and a Hoffman.
Drouin retained at 25%+ Hoffman for Monahan. Gives them two top 9 wingers who could strive with Huberdeau/Kadri and 2M$+ cap space to sign Nazem.

Gives Montreal 4.5M$ next season. Maybe try to resign Monahan at a low cap hit if he does well (don't know much about his injury or if he comes back this season to play).

A 6'2 27 years old center who not long ago was a solid 30goal-60points+ player. Maybe just need a change of scenery like Sam Bennett did.
