The earliest the Habs should consider getting PLD for is in 1 year. By that time, he's a year rental. The only reason I'd be open to trading for him is to dump a few contracts including Dvorak, Anderson, etc. If they aren't interested, just wait two years. There's no reason to sign him now. Hughes has stated Habs aren't gonna be competitive this year. Basically he knows Habs are terribly constructed and will suck so might as well wait and make PLD the bigish FA signing that every team makes when they're done tanking and ready to compete

*Asterixed options are required plus any three other options

*A. one center among Dach, Dvorak, Evans
*B. any winger over 26 except Anderson, Dadonov
C. Primeau or Montembeault or 3rd round pick
D. Pitlick or Pezzetta or 4th round pick
E. Drouin or Byron or 5th round pick
F. a bottom pairing D-man between Savard or Wideman
G. any prospect not a top 30 pick nor Harris, Roy, Hutson, Dobes, Farrell

I think it was actually the MurphysLaw guy who wrote this one. Apparently been covering the NHL for 20 years according to his Twitter.

It's just so frustrating lol it's not hard to check stats and then double check to make sure they're right. Especially simple ones like goals and assists. If he was doing the math himself and accidentally messed up, that's a whole different story. But this is just silly.

I agree though. Seems like anyone can be an insider these days.

Because developed players are worth more than prospects and draftees.

Otherwise it is foolish to prefer a Mystery Box over a developed elite player. It is beyond foolish, it is downright ridiculous to prefer Slaf + Dach + FLA 1st over Tkachuk.
