Not me. Anderson has higher value than Toffoli and is more rare to acquire.

It's possible it will happen but not this summer. I just wonder if talks between Hughes and Chevy have stalled and they are not talking anymore.

Hughes is playing his leverage well. Jets are likely trying to talk to other teams so I say good luck to them. Habs do not have to make a desperate trade for Dubois. I'm very interested but not desperate. The more time goes by, the less value he has IMO.

Chevy created this situation by offering Laine and Rost for a player who refuses to sign long term.
Yes. Anderson has more value. He is younger, a power forward and most importantly he is an excellent skater so will have value until the end of his contract. Toffoli if he slows down any won't have much value. The best
move with Toffoli was to move him to a team that can contend now so he and they get to make use of his best years. Anderson doesn't need to be moved if they can find cap space to get to the end of the season.

I wonder what Chevy wants?

Maybe Dvorak, Dach, Florida 1st, and a 2nd?

I can see them want Dvorak in the deal because if they're going to move PLD, they'd ideally want a center in return. And I don't think they'd have much resistance from the Habs on that front.

Maybe they'd want Dach instead. But Jets are still in a window where they want to win now before the contracts of their top guys start to expire one by one. So I doubt they'd want to take on a project like Dach instead. I think they'd prefer the more sure bet, which is Dvorak.

Not to mention Dvorak is still only 26 and has 3 years at a very good cap hit of 4.45M.

One thing they'll never get is both Dvorak and Dach.

I'm for it.

one of Dach, Dvorak or Evans (one center)
one of Pitlick, Pezzetta or Ylonen (one cheap bottom 6 forward)
one of Armia, Savard or Hoffman (one vet contract)
bonus: Byron or Drouin if they wish, or a B prospect or a 4th round pick

I'm pretty convinced Chevy backed out of the deal because he thought Hughes would cave in with Dubois and his fam/friends at the draft waiting for the trade to be announced. We can revisit this potential trade next year, but even then I'd rather keep my eye on a guy like Chychrun who would fill a MASSIVE need for us and if Huberdeau wants to sign here too Dubois can hit the road.

I'm pretty sure Chevy did not back out of a finalized deal. I do believe there were discussions, and maube the agent was even told "it's looking good", but I don't believe that a deal was shaken upon.

I find it odd that Dubois was there if he didn't think the deal was already done.

We've got nobody in the system that can be a #1 dman and at that point I'd pay the price for Chychrun (assuming he extends). I don't want to waste the years of Bedard/Suzuki/CC/Slaf by being stingy.

It's very simple for me to know which assets to give up. We are building a core of young players and we shouldn't give any of our top players in each position to ensure we aren't lacking somewhere.

Next, we have to consider the impact Dubois can make on the habs. He's a legitimate big top 6 C/LW who has been a difference maker in the playoffs before. If you get the best player in the trade, then you generally win it.

With these considerations, the only players and assets I wouldn't include in an offer are Slaf, Suzuki, Cole, Ghule, Barron and a potential top 10 pick in this year's stacked draft class (I'd only give up a 1st this year if it's top 10 protected).

Everyone else should be considered depending on the package as I feel Dubois is a safe bet to have a greater impact with this core.

A combination of (not all of) Dvo, Anderson, Dach, Farrell, Roy, Harris, Norlinder, Mailloux, and draft picks definitely can entice Winnipeg.
Zero chance I would trade Mesar either. That would be a good way to piss Slafkovsky off before the start of the year.

Also wouldn't trade Harris because our D is so weak. Wouldnt trade Farrell either unless its like Farrell and a couple 4ths, and some cap dumps.

Norlinder, Tuch, Mailloux (doubt anyone would want him at his real value), Roy, Kidney, Biondi are what I would include... But some of those are worth way more than others.

...I am still a believer that Mailloux will be a Top 4 guy and run the PP for a long time, whether Hutson makes it or not...I wouldn't trade him yet...

Can the Pierre Luc Dubois have is own thread talk?
He's already in the Free agent frenzy thread as well. Plus probably spilling into the lineup thread and others as well.

Only way of contingency is for the trade to happen or confirmation talks have aborted.

Who cares? Petry just got traded. What the hell else is going on?

I'd give up Mesar for Dubois right away and Slafkovsky would be a punk to get pissed off about it.

Yeah I wouldn't trade anyone we just drafted unless Winnipeg really overrated them in a deal.

And Mailloux I'm open to trade but only at his actual value, which means he replaces a 1st round pick in why trade.

Mesar for Dubois? Sure. If they're taking back cap and nothing else of value.

Still think it would be a bad idea.

well what offer would you give?

Because Arizona will not sell him for cheap and all they want are kids , no vets will do

You're getting a 24 year-old center who can score (at least) 60 points a year and who's previously shown he has the ability to single-handedly beat a team in the playoffs. On top of that he seems to be all-in on your franchise. People don't realize how valuable that is. I'm also tentative because we don't know how he is the room but if his only issue was just how badly he wanted to be in Montreal, take a shot.
