Not sure about the source, but I saw on FB that Thachuk wants out because of Canadian Gov response to Covid. Regardless of whether that is true or not, it would seem that he wants to follow Gaudreau at the very least South of the border.

We know Trudeau's handling of matters were a factor in Petry wanting out.

Technically everything as decided by the province, that's just typical inventing stuff that fits a narritive without some kind of proof. This is the reality and I've been saying this for a while now.....it's dangerous to deal with with American players.

Canada is cool for Canadians....for all European too as it's similar to their hometown....but not for the Americans as Canada is seen as a downgrade from their homes, their lives, some don't care but the big stars if they have a choice , they'll choose their country for sure.

I don't know if that is the case with all Americans, but yes, there will be some that prefer to stay South of the border.

Lets all hope the lockdowns and mandates and restrictions are all coming to an end!

I thought Incarcerated Bob said another major trade was on the way? :P

It’s so easy to be an “insider” these days. Just throw obvious bullshit “Calgary is either looking to rebuild or find replacements for Tkachuk and Gaudreau :O” and hope it pans out & say “I told you so!”

I'm not blaming anyone. But can we agree without acting like petulant children that there is a reality at play here. And diverse opinions that exist within the scope of professional athletes and regular joes alike?

Hence, I will tie this back to Dubois, the kid wants to play in Montreal. Beggars can't be choosers! Canadian climate, taxes and the political atmosphere (I don't care if you support it or not, some won't) all play into the decisions these athletes make when they plan the future out for their families.
I totally agree about the reality with rich US born athletes and their wives living in Canada where restrictions have been more serious. Just pointing out that your baseball example doesn't fly as it's the same for Canadian and US citizens who aren't vaccinated trying to get into the other country.

PLD scares me. Wanting out of two organizations at a young age is rare. Especially so early in the organization that drafted him #3 overall and then the organization that employs his father. The pattern has my spidey senses tingling.

Are we really calling a person called "Incarcerated Bob" an "insider"?

Some say he breaks a lot of stuff.

Lots of random twitter accounts throw shit on the wall, very few actually get it right all that often (including that one). The only difference between those twitter accounts and Eklund is that Eklund figured out how to make money from it.

Who cares man Let them players walk to to the states where womens right don’t seem to matter anymore except in the most liberal/democratic states
Have fun in Texas
Agreed. Most of them have grown up very privileged and have no time for inconvenient societal sacrifices. Yet they don't mind living in a country where human rights are going back in time and their kids are at risk of being victims of mass shootings at school.

I wonder what happens if Chevaldayoff refuses to trade Dubois cause there is no offer he likes. Does Dubois return to that dressing room after all the drama he’s made himself a part of?

Or maybe, Dubois will fit right into the dysfunction that is the Jets dressing room.
I don’t see Dubois refusing to play and turning his nose at 2 X 6M$+/season.
As long as Jets don’t trade him, he’s still their player.
Doubt Euro-leagues would be a considerable money option for him.

I think a reasonable deal here would be Dvorak, Flo 1st (conditional) and a B tier prospect. MTL would still have cap issue, but keeping Byron on LTIR and/or trading some one like Armia with a pick would clear the room needed.

I dont think though that Winnipeg can expect a deal that will bring more high profile asset like Ghule or our own 1st.
I agree that the Habs 1st is out of the question. Assuming the condition on the Florida pick is that the Jets would receive a first rounder in 2024 (or some other picks) if it ends up being top ten, I would do that trade. In all likelyhood the Panthers make the playoffs next season. I pretty sure that other teams would be willing to do a similar deal to that though. Even if Dubois is just a two year rental. Dvorak is nothing special. Borderline second line center. Florida's 1st (if protected by some condition that Habs keep the pick if it's top 10/15) is pretty much the same as first rounder coming from any other playoff bound team. Finally, every team has B level prospects. It only takes one team to go all in and move an A level prospect or add an additional pick (which could be conditional) to out bid the Habs in this scenario. Desperation to win now (even if it's just for the next two years) makes teams do stupid things.

It would be interesting to see what pick/prospect would need to be attached to Armia to dump his contract. There's 3 years left on it. Habs had to take back Dadonov to get rid of Weber. I'm thinking the Habs are going to have to cough up something decent/good to dump one of their less attractive contracts.

I'm hoping the Habs get a bargain when they trade for him, but I'm not holding my breath.

Actually yes, I see that happening.

Flames were runner up to Eichel and Vegas pounces on everything that's available and have 0 loyalty to their players.
The only thing is that a Karlsson-Stephenson-Roy center depth isn’t strong despite the upgrade from Lehner to Markstrom

To be fair, players don't have much loyalty to teams either. How often do you see players asking for trades after signing long expensive contracts with trade protection of some kind? If they were loyal, they'd play their heart for whatever team they chose to sign with. Also, I don't see many players taking a pay cut to resign with a cap strapped team. Loyalty is a two-way street.

Eichel and Lehner for Tkachuk and Markstrom watch it happen
Well they got owned by the Habs when Chandler Stephenson was their top centre. I don’t think they want to go down that road again.

I will say if the Panthers do end up trading for Tkachuk (they are on his list of desirable destinations), then the FLA 1st can definitely be in play after.

Put me in the crowd that doesn't want to trade Anderson. I get excited every time he is on the ice.
For PLD? - ok, but he is a crowd favorite and awesome for a playoff team. But no way am I considering him a throw in or a salary dump. If Jets fans don't want him then that is perfectly fine by me.
He was a big reason we beat Toronto 2 years ago. The defense kept coughing up the puck when he went into the corner with them. This stuff doesn't show up on analytics charts.

They team would be awesome with all of Slaf, Dubois and Anderson - Dach too.
They make room for guys like Caufield and Farrell.
That's how I see it too, a top 6 of Slaf-Suzuki-Caufield and Dubois-Dach-Anderson would be very exciting
