If we traded veleno today what would he be worth ??? A 3rd?? A similar younger player with meh stats??

I know Rasmussen brings more than veleno but they have identical stats and I find a hard time seeing yzerman giving anything close to the deal Rasmussen got so I'm thinking hes gone after the season

I think in the end Veleno is going to be better than Rasmussen, we should extend him like 5x2.5 , something like that

Ok listen here boys. I’ve had a few drinkies thanks to good old Jonny walker.

But here’s my take. What if…? Stevie doesn’t want to make any trades? The only reason I wonder this is because if team chemistry. Now I know… they’re professional athletes blah blah it’s part of the business side of things. But this group really seems to gel.

IMO we’re very close. Like one more really good player away from being not necessarily cup contenders but really being a pain in the arse for plenty of teams. Idk. Sometimes leaving good enough alone works.

Maybe he stands pat and sees what happens and then improves upon it next year. I know we’re all itching for a cup. We’re so close yet it’s a fickle situation.

I’ll shut up now.

But then again I will stay firm and stick with my belief that Ras is somewhat a late bloomer and will grow. Veleno lacks that one thing I think Ras has over him. That gear to to take control of play.

Things are going to be tight here on out cap space wise. Holl deal sucked at the time and it really sucks now. Husso was 1 year to long. Maata one year to long. Copp one year to long. Lots of contracts that are 1 year to long which probably prevents us from getting hanifen or jake this deadline.

Only way we get that piece is if yzerman can get rid of one of the guys I mentioned or bridge Lucas(which would be a mistake). Ig we will see what happens

I can see that, the team playing well and theres depth pieces in GR. Just keep playing and see how far this team goes, improve weak spots during the summer. Even the rumours sound like that, Kane and Perron being re-signed. And i'll assume Sprong and Fischer gets re-signed, that leaves just Ghost. He's value is 4th at best.

We'll see but I doubt he'll be better than rasmussen and the most i see yzerman giving him is 2 year.

But I don't see him giving a 4c 2.5 to 3.3 per year when we have to sign seider raymond kane etc.. I think hes getting traded. We'll see

I think someone like Veleno could be used in a package for a guy like guentzel. Berggren + Veleno + 2nd round pick for signed guentzel

Pens wouldnt move guentzel without a 1st attached and I wouldnt deal those assets for a ufa or someone who we'll have to sign till 37-38

I guess I’m trying to figure out what pitt is trying to do. I know they are trying to get younger, but they are also keeping Crosby, Malkin, letang, EK. I know they wanna get younger so doesn’t two 23 year old middle 6 players with upside seem pretty attractive to a team in a more of a retool stage? I think those 2 + a pick around 50ish makes sense for them.

I'd be okay with staying pat because I think we're already at that pain in the arse stage. They've showed they can beat elite teams on a consistent basis, especially since January. If you throw a elite player in the mix I don't think it's out of the question to discuss making the conference finals. I would like to see a trade that helps tighten up the defense though.

Unless this team backslides like they did in December, I'm not sure how someone would consider them playoff chum.
