It looks like Montour slowed down since last year, although last year was an outlier for him anyway. But he looked so good in most of Florida's playoff run last year. I remember wanting him.

Hard pass on both dmen. We already have dmen with term we need to get rid of and ppl want to add more guys with 5-8 year deals?

What happens if pelikka is ready in 25-26?? I wrote off tuomisto but hes been real good. We have a ton of d prospects we need guys with shorter term imo and first we need to get edvinsson in the lineup and see if johansson can have a future in Detroit

get a 2nd for Maata and move the pick to get rid of chiarot at this point. Petry next

Red Wings had Matt Roy when his name was still Jon Merrill.

Kylington has played 1 NHL game since sitting out an entire season for "mental health issues". Not sure Yzerman would be the one to take a chance there, with other options available.

He certainly seems odd man out.
Especially since the team seems to be building chemistry and identity, and I can think of very specific and valid reasons for keeping almost every forward on the roster. Even Rasmussen.

Also the fact that Kasper, Danielson, and Mazur are likely to be pushing up into the roster within the next 18 months.

Roy is better than Merrill ever was and has averaged 2 more minutes a game through his career than Jon. Not that I want him, but he is better than Merrill.

I think Perron is gone after the season, that opens up a spot in next seasons team. After next season i believe Fabbri is gone and Fischer could be kept as extra forward, Kostin probably goes back to Russia. Veleno takes Fischer's spot and then there 2 spots open for Kasper, Danielson and Mazur.

Unless there is a player we really want i don't see Berggren being traded, and if Wings and GR keeps this up both end up in playoffs and both need Berggren. Wings as a depth and GR as a 1st line winger.

Burgers role on the team is currently being held up by Perron/Fabbri/Sprong. If anyone of those guys aren’t resigned, hurt, retire, or traded, Berggren is the the insurance to plug in and fits in our rebuild timeline far better than any of them.

Realistically, as mentioned before, Perron is likely out after this year and I’m still not sure Sprong is resigned. I don’t think Stevie moves on from Berggren as a hedge against those three as I do very much expect him to be a Nyquist level, offensive winger when he reaches his prime in a couple of years. All that to be said, that if and when a larger trade is in play for a marquee player, Burger is exactly the middle six player that’s sent back along with pick and prospect. Either way, we have cover for Perron/Sprong in the short term and and valuable trade piece to close out on a bigger name if/when that happens.

And the fact that Berggren, as skilled as he is, is fairly soft. He’s 100% an NHLer but I doubt he’s the kind of guy that comes in clutch in a playoff game.

If Berggren can help the team land Hanifin then I’ll be happy.

It's like people have completely forgotten that Slava Kozlov existed. He still holds (tied with Stevie and Franzen) the Wings' all time playoff game winning goal record...

Dealing berggren would be a mistake. If your going to deal him let him play a season and get 50 pts and boost his value first

The guys been a point producer everywhere hes played and last I checked you need to score goals to win.

Everyone talks about how hed get tossed around in the playoffs? Its funny cause a few games ago I saw debrincat go in the corner for a puck and I laughed my ass off when he got tossed aside like he was nothing. I can easily see him dissapearing in the playoffs

Berggren can set up guys for goals at least ... either way dealing him before the 24-25 season for a pick or mediocre player would be a mistake

Andrew Copp to the Rangers for Kappo kakko. The rangers need a center with the Filip Chytil injury and Copp had good chemistry with the rags a couple of seasons ago. We should try to move Copp now that he's playing decent and try and get out from under his contract. Move Christian Fischer to center on the new checking line and call up Carter Mazur to round out that line. We can eat some of Copps contract to make the deal work and take a swing on Kakko with his pedigree.

Or... hear me out... we can keep Copp since he's providing the kind of play we signed him to provide. We need that center every bit as much as the Rangers do.

With the Wings having a pretty good grasp on WC2 in the East I am kind of expecting to see Berggren moved as part of a package for Hanifin.

Once the rosters expand you can bring up Edvinsson and run Seider, Walman, Hanifin, Edvinsson, Chiarot, and Maatta and let Holl/Petry ride the pine as depth.

edit: Gonna be honest, I completely forgot that Ghost exists. I would modify that to Seider, Walman, Hanifin, Edvinson, Chiarot, Ghost, and dump one of Maatta\Holl\Petry. Ghost on the third pair and PP2 would probably be the best spot for him to pick apart third pairs and fourth lines.
