If the DRW under SY sell again this TDL every possible UFA for the sixth straight year, the GMs future needs to be also reevaluated..
SMH... It is what it is then in spite of how I feel for the person....

Though, personally, Mid-season collapse, imo, isn't totally his fault. Sprinkled in with games were the team just folds... Coach sets the line-up, practices, motivation, etc. Yzerman just chooses and signs the players and we all can agree relatively, they are a good/competitive team playing like a ish-show.

As much as Id love to see playoffs, I don't believe this team is consistent enough to make it this year. We likely sell.

What does Kane bring @ 50% retained? 1st + A prospect potentially if he stays healthy
Perron - 2nd/3rd?
Gostisbehere - Late 1st + C prospect
Maatta - 4th to make room for Ed?
Sprong ? Kostin? Berggren? We actually have some solid assets to trade

We can then use these assets to trade for younger core players (Hanifin? Nylander? Guenztel? Resign Kane?)

Kane will be THE BEST asset to sell at next deadline. Small caphit and elite player. Yzerman robbery incoming.

There's nothing pathetic in him at the moment.

eh he does have a full NTC, being able to pick a team like that usually keeps returns from being too crazy

he's a good enough player that "not too crazy" probably still involves a 1st round pick though if he does get moved

Ghost was traded for a 3rd round pick last season, Kane went for conditional 2nd and 4th. Kane is playing better right now though, while Ghost is showing that he's a defensive liability, team worst -17 now, Chiarot is the closest D at -1. Maatta has no trade value considering he isn't playing well, Kostin is injured and overpaid. If the team trades Sprong then Stevie will keep Burger.

So Kane probably fetches a 2nd + 3rd, and the others are 3rd or less. Wings will probably pick Fischer kid with their own 2nd round pick as the nepotism pick, maybe they actually take at least one kid with some skill with one of the 3rd rounders. The way Draper picks, highly unlikely any of them becomes a difference maker in the NHL, just more "hard to play against" kids.

That's pretty much bullschit.

Määttä is Top1 at xGF%, Top1 at GF% and Top4 at Corsi%.

When GMs from different teams will look at these stats, they are interested. Same happened with Hronek.

we need to come to a final decision on our goaltending. If it's lyon, great, get rid of reimer and trade for a saros or markstrom or vejmelka.

we need to come to a final decision on defense. Get rid of maatta/petry/holl/maybe walman?? for edvinsson and an upgrade. (probably won't trade walman until at least after bobblehead night right....lol that would be awkward).

We really don't need to do much to our forwards unless we are adding a lindholm type player. We don't even need significant adds to our defense, we just need a change. Goalie should be our number 1 priority because if we just had a couple more wins because of a goalie standing on their head for most of the game, then we would be probably very close to #2 in our division right now instead of 3 points out of 3rd.

Again, I haven't done a complete 180 yet, but I'm getting there when it comes to us being out of it/not out of it. We were just so damn bad for a month and we are only 3 points out of third, thats literally incredible. January is a very light month for us, and yes we are playing tough teams, but winning 9 is a priority and I would wager a lot of money on us being (for the moment) "comfortably in 3rd and knocking on 2nds door."

Trade for a goalie and re-evaluate the defense after 10 games with new starting goalie in net with lyon as the proposed backup. Still have defense struggles and issues (probably)? Get that trade in for hanifin and gas up the engines with some pure octane in the veins. (god i love mcdc)

Holy overvalues Batman!

Kane gets a late 1st, maybe, because he's shown he's back from the hip thing. More likely a 2nd and a 3rd.
Perron has little value.
Ghost has even less value.
Maatta has even less value than that.
Sprong has even less than that!
And Kostin has quite literally 0 value.

Berggren will be a nice toss-in if you deal him for something bigger.

How did his numbers look his final season in LA? And how much of a pay cut did he take? What does that tell you about his market value? What does that tell you about your analysis?

Is Saros still available?

Unlikely. Trotz has said multiple times he plans on extending Saros.

I feel very much the same way about Zegras as I did Kane. I hate his guts and the attention he gets when he is in another team’s sweater. I’ll love him in ours though.

Zegras's attitude is what bothers me about him. He comes across extremely cocky/douchey when they talk to him in interviews. Reminds me heavily of younger Jason Spezza (attitude) who always bugged me, only more cocky than Spezza.

Spezza was more of a male bimbo...a mimbo

Sharks trade: LHD Mario Ferraro.

Red Wings trade: LHD Ollie Maatta, RW Daniel Sprong, LHD Albert Johansson, F Carter Mazuer and Red Wings 1st round pick.

Roll 7 D, Gostisbehere playing some 4th line.
