What about Alec Martinez? He’s getting up there in age (36) but he’s still better than Maatta, Petry, Holl, Chiarot. He’s a UFA in the summer. So doesn’t necessarily have to be a trade now, 1yr deal. But if Vegas wants to shed salary one of our lesser dmen could go and we take on the 5,2mil for the rest of the season.

He’d be a reliable and stabilizing element for Mo, Edvinsson or any partner and
„A good pro“ as a certain looney and former coach of us would say.

We need more righty, than we need lefty. Petry is gone soon, and no prospect jumping on the roster this or next season is RD.

Hanifin is lefty and plays left, so is Edvinsson.

Trade option should be RD, for sure. 2nd pair RD, between Seider and Holl.

- Yzerman was interested getting him to Tampa few years ago.

Many have different opinions about Ristolainen being either good or bad, but he is mean SOB. And he is big. Kind of could fill the Cernak Tampa role at Detroit.

Do we just swing for it and try to knab Gibson/Zegras? What's a package even look like? Imo, Wings would likely be coughing up consecutive 1st rdp's. (This year and next).

RHD is easier than adding Risto. Guys like Dante Fabbro/Will Borgen could provide legitimate upgrades for next to nothing prices. Need a player that has a first step on Holl/Petry which, realistically shouldn't be that hard. Really, Holl/Maatta are messing things up. Petry useful as a 7th D/veteran in the locker-room. Chiarots actually playing better than all these guys mentioned...

Maatta/Holl might be let go for peanuts to make room for Edvinsson eventually.
