I wouldn't trade any one of those players for Dickinson and I don't think tossing them away for a 2nd is good asset management.

He's not much better, that's the thing with dang goalies so up and down. Markstrom is also 33 with two more years at 6mil.

Markstrom has at least been really good before, though, and the contract differences aren't that great. If Markstrom would waive his NMC to come here, could maybe just swap husso for him if calgary wants a goalie with shorter term.

I like him as a stop gap til ASP is ready to come over. I think he is an upgrade over Petry and Holl. I’m just concerned that his game will drop off and then he will be another one of those guys.

Sign me up for markstrom though. huge goalie from sweden that can bail you out in games with lyon as the backup? Not sure if we had a better tandem in net since ozzy and hasek and they were both like 50 years old.

Duclair is basically exactly AA.

Its crucial for our guys development that we challenge for at minimum and ideally make the playoffs this season.

I'm not looking for too many small additions like Duclair. We can bring a guy up like him possibly with Berggren, etc. MIGHT... consider Riemer for Luke Glendenning.

Lindholm is the catch, imo. Hanifin is interesting too.

If Wings aren't adding a top 2 C, top 4 D, or a starting Goalie. Idk if I'm too interested without the trade being an absolute song. EX; Duclair for a 5th round pick, something similar to what the Islanders just did.

Yeah it's confusing because he rips on our defensive effort after almost every game but then says this? Meanwhile we have a 6'7 freak in Grand Rapids who's best attribute is his defensive acumen and transition game

Also we're just delaying Edvinsson's transition period when he does finally get here

IF he deliberately ices a worse than best product in order to fetch 3rd, 4th and 5th round picks at this junction of the rebuild for the likes of Holl, Maata and Petry then he should step down immediately.

Idk if Wild would but if they'd let him go, maybe a higher pick/prospect for someone like Marcus Folingo.

It's not even really ratcheted up yeah (Physical play) and teams are consistently pulling crap on the Red Wings. Outside of last night's head shot to Larkin players have been consistently "tripping" or leaving legs out for our players. Questionable boarding hits too from time to time. Raymond on more than one occasion and once this game has been tripped by players intentionally leaving a leg out.

Kostin is nice, ok fighter, I admire his willingness to step up but... Maybe it's time to bring in someone that'll actually stop some of these antics on ice. I'm ready to bring in Maroon/Deslaurier/Folingo... Possibly Schenn but that requires some maneuvering.

No one player is going to stop teams from doing that kind of thing. If you have Ryan Reaves they just skate past him and laugh.

What about Alec Martinez? He’s getting up there in age (36) but he’s still better than Maatta, Petry, Holl, Chiarot. He’s a UFA in the summer. So doesn’t necessarily have to be a trade now, 1yr deal. But if Vegas wants to shed salary one of our lesser dmen could go and we take on the 5,2mil for the rest of the season.

He’d be a reliable and stabilizing element for Mo, Edvinsson or any partner and
„A good pro“ as a certain looney and former coach of us would say.
